Awful match to watch - total borefest- S'neil midfielder who got sent off lost his team that match - he was actually a decent player. Crokes well versed in the dark arts. IrishGael3 (USA) - Posts: 1092 - 17/03/2017 22:14:42 1968018 Link 8 |
Here I gave you a thumbs up there, you seem to crave them. Enjoy Tralee tomorrow, the bullring is a great walk up to Austin Stacks TheHermit (Kerry) - Posts: 6354 - 17/03/2017 22:27:12 1968020 Link 4 |
I was also at the match, Donnchadh Walsh spent the whole game sitting beside Fitzgearld in the half back line in fact in the Monday papers Colm Keys noted the next day "he spread himself thin and was ready to foul when needed", even when Declan O Sullivan came on he also played as an extra defender. But for a lovely score from Paul Murphy in the second half, Kerry were robotic and boring and Jack O Connor commented after the match that he would never have got away with playing football like that. Kerry were so negative they played your best forward that year James O Donnoghue in a deep role. I Imagine Jim Mc Guinness most have nighmares about picking young O Connor over McBrearty that afternoon.

Cynical cynical football wins out again in croker but then we are used to that ... how could Deegan watch systematic fouling non stop for 60 minutes and do so little.... and as for the bore fest of the last 5 mins in particular jees these so called Kerry purists must be running for cover.. I feel gutted for slaughtneil AnBuachaillGlas (Fermanagh) - Posts: 287 - 17/03/2017 23:04:25 1968024 Link 3 |
Dr. Crokes got a very very soft free that eventually led to their goal...sending off was costly then just before half time..I remember an All Ireland a few years ago too when Kilkenny beat TIpp, Tipp were leading by 5 points and a ball looked to be out over the sidline, Tipp stopped to protest momentarily Kilkenny kept going and went up the field and got a a goal that changed the whole game...I dont know..big teams always seem to get these breaks in tight games....

Yeah I agree. S'neil would have been All Ireland Champions if they had 15 v 15 in that 2nd half. Left it behind them me thinks.... Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3684 - 17/03/2017 23:38:26 1968034 Link 2 |
Jesus what a sad end to a St Patricks Day reading some of the crap posted in the five pages here. A few facts as I saw them from someone who would of liked Slaughtneil to win but backed Crokes minus the handicap (lost that bet so no team done me any favours benched (Tyrone) - Posts: 534 - 18/03/2017 01:18:48 1968047 Link 2 |
You can keep crying about if you want to it won't change the result, we have had numerous coulda woulda shuddas down the years and no one ever has any time for it. If the opposition decide the to sit in their shells and play guerilla warfare you have to defend against it and unfortunately no one would argue it's a pretty sight Look at Dublin since 2014, and their games vs Ulster opposition Vs non Ulster opposition the difference is night and day. Unless the GAA do something drastic nothing will change and the usual suspects will try and block and mention of a change and tell us everything is fine KYTotalFootball (Kerry) - Posts: 280 - 18/03/2017 07:31:38 1968052 Link 2 |
And so what if they did? This attitude is what is wrong. What difference does a 2 point and 6/7 point margin matter at the end of the day. Why not try and rattle Crokes with 10 minutes to go. They have lost a lot of close games in Kerry and outside in recent years and weren't playing anywhere near the best so any serious pressure would likely have yielded good results. After a minute or two they should have copped on that Crokes weren't going to just lamp in the ball willy-nilly. Indeed a quick video analysis before the game would have told them that Instead of dying on their shield they just tamely faded which is disappointing, they didn't even use all their subs which is mystifying in the circumstances KYTotalFootball (Kerry) - Posts: 280 - 18/03/2017 07:40:53 1968053 Link 1 |
Donegal tried open football against us this year for the first and last time this year and got eviscerated while doing so, we'd only love Ulster teams to have the courage to play man on man but alas they stay in their shells and play guerilla warfare

Nah I never make the trip down if the game is on in Tralee Killarney on the other hand, far nicer spot, and worthy of my money. Better standards really across the board. jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20587 - 18/03/2017 08:44:23 1968060 Link 0 |
So the Nordies (mainly Tyrone and Donegal) bring in puke football and I slate It all the nordy posters destroy me on here tell me to get with the time yet when Dr Crokes copy the nordy style yesterday all the nordies are crying saying it was puke football and how cynical Crokes were haha you couldn't make it up ,yes Crokes played puke football and we're cynical but you's seemed to have no problem with your county team playing the exact same style the last decade. Well done Gooch you deserve your club all Ireland now you should retire cause your a shadow of the great player you once were in my own opinion. Also Rodgers full back you couldn't win it all on your own but you nearly did he was outstanding, one last thing number 5 in hurling threw a punch no booking even, in football it's a red card , we've gone so soft it's ridiculous. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 18/03/2017 09:50:00 1968067 Link 4 |
The ref & linesmen missed another two red card offences, one a stamp by a Crokes player as his opponent was lying on the ground over the sideline, right in front of the linesman, it was a deliberate strike, stamp & should have seen red & also the strike on Bradley. Dàithí Casey who when playing football was excellent but got away with numerous personal fouls including one black card offence. The inconsistency & standard of officiating was only matched by the standard of football on display. Gaelic football now on a par with cricket, a total borefest. moc.dna (Galway) - Posts: 1212 - 18/03/2017 10:06:07 1968071 Link 0 |
