The usual posters following the usual course on here. Ulster posters giving out about cynical fouling.. You boys mastered it.. westkerry (Kerry) - Posts: 1250 - 17/03/2017 19:42:45 1967941 Link 3 |
The difference being of course that when Ulster fellas 'fight fire with fire' they are yellow, red and black carded left, right and centre. Its not whinging, it's highlighting hypocrisy and double standards. Cooper is a great player and good luck to him but Croke's cynical play will be buried beneath the sentimental Gooch stuff tomorrow.

And what would someone from Roscommon know about bottle or winning?

When Ulster teams brought in cynicism and extreme negative tactics into Football we were told to deal with and stop whining and crying KYTotalFootball (Kerry) - Posts: 280 - 17/03/2017 19:54:20 1967948 Link 2 |
Lazy post, there are nine provinces and countless club teams, my own club would have been beaten like SN today because they wouldn't have the lack of gamesmanship like a lot of Kerry teams.

I didn't see the game but my father said Crokes played keep ball towards the end and Slaughtneil couldn't get the ball off them. uibhfhaili1986 (Offaly) - Posts: 1296 - 17/03/2017 19:56:39 1967950 Link 2 |
I didn't think the game was any more cynical then in any game that's tight and evenly matched. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4441 - 17/03/2017 19:58:37 1967952 Link 3 |
The problem with the last 5min was S/N were still playing extra men bk. how do a team not push up on there men when they are behind and only 5 min left. Northern teams have ruined football and other teams had no choicebut to follow suit if they want to win.

im glad the gooch has a medal to complete his collection before he retires. but i thought the ref and his official's decisions were absolutely puzzling today. I attended the first round of the munster club, crokes and kib of clare and crokes targeted the 2 best forwards of the opposition and just continually fouled them when the game was in the melting pot with no sanction. i also seen all crokes games all the way to the all ireland final and the theme continued.. kavvie (Clare) - Posts: 504 - 17/03/2017 20:04:13 1967957 Link 1 |
Because at all levels of the game Ulster teams always set up massed defences and unfortunately with the rules the only way to defeat it is to mirror it as Dublin found out and learned from in 2014 SNeil just like Donegal Vs Dublin (with 2 extra men!!!!) and ourselves in 14 needing a Goal still refused to trust their FB Line to defend 1 on 1 and opted to accept defeat which is a very sad indictment KYTotalFootball (Kerry) - Posts: 280 - 17/03/2017 20:12:50 1967958 Link 1 |
Congrats to Crokes on their win. The Derry team put in a great first half and seemed to have set up a winning position until their midfielder had a rush of blood to the head and rightfully got red carded. You would have to admire their effort in the second half with 14 men, but Crokes made very intelligent use of the extra man by playing a running game. Last five minutes were ugly to watch but every team would do it. I thought that the ref had a poor game and let Crokes away with persistent pulling and dragging throughout the game. The full back and centre half back for S'neil seemed to suffer most from this ploy. neverright (Roscommon) - Posts: 1648 - 17/03/2017 20:17:29 1967962 Link 2 |
