id go along with your analysis ollie - i think and hope limerick will challenge - was at the mcgrath cup game v clare on wednesday night - saw enough to suggest we have hope for the season - have wexford away and westmeath at home in first two games , playing kerry in mcgrath cup will be good for them -- in the last two years we ran clare close in championship and competed well in 21s. Something like that alright. Maybe the final result will be a chopping and changing among those three counties, but it's impossible to see either Leitrim, Carlow, Wicklow, Waterford or London breaking into the top two. Maybe one of them will steal third place, but that's about it.

We have Carlow. I think we'll win that but the next fixture at the Gaelic grounds won't be easy given limericks good showing in the McGrath cup. Have limerick and westmeath played that much over the years, i saw ye win under 21s in1999 in gaelic grounds, played ye in 21s semi following year and won - brought 8k fans to mullingar for final v tyrone, ye beat us by about 7 points in 2001 qualifier was at that one too in the old gaelic grounds, - ye made quarters that year i think, 2003 ye beat us in croke park in division 2league final , 2006 ye beat us by a point in a qualifer (didnt see that one coz i was following hurlers against offaly that night) , have we played ye since in football (played ye in the hurling last two seasons), was at the league game last year double header with hurlers - boy was it cold that night

Fair play janeboro. You have a good memory. That 2003 final in Croker was a good game. We won by the skin of our teeth. Remember that u21 semi final well too. Think it was a Wednesday night in Portlaoise. As a piece of trivia I'm pretty sure Niall Breslin aka Bressie off the telly came on as a sub in that game. We were favourites then whereas in 1999 we were underdogs which seemed to suit us better. When you look at the Kerry team against us in 99 it was a great achievement to win that All Ireland. This will be a tricky old division for the teams that expected to walk it. Westmeath were lucky to get the draw v Carlow. Leitrim based on a great u-21 side went to Wicklow & got a seriously good win. Wexford beat Limerick in the so called battle of the top 3. Div 4 will be a tough old battle for the likes of Westmeath who come here from 2 leinster finals. Rather than a 3 way fight for 2 places as all bookies/predictions had, I reckon it's 2 from 5. Wexford are favourites now & got off to a great start with a win over Limerick, have Westmeath at home too. So would expect Wexford to win Div 4 & then a fight for 2nd between Limerick, Carlow, Westmeath & Leitrim. Can see Waterford, Wicklow and London finishing bottom 3 in that order.
