Does GAA get fair coverage compared to soccer and rugby

The RTE 6.01 News and Sport's Friday fiasco reminded me of another of their recent caption howlers. We all remember the Tony Keady Affair. Well when he was interviewed recently on 6.01 Sport about Galway hurling he was captioned as Tony Ready. Last night's pantomime showed a similar lack of respect for our players and our games. However In contrast to all the cock-ups in their football/hurling coverage of late 6.01 Sport always seems to get it right when dealing with other sports which suggests it's that old D4 mindset that's the real problem. It's fair to say in all walks of life there is always a "love/hate" feeling between opinions and facts, in a lot of cases when opinions are no longer seen as entertaining, the originator or the receiver using a tad of sarcasm goes in search of "facts" however small or insignificant they may be, it's all in the name of having the last say so to speak, depending on your postal code. When the gaa sold some of television rights to sky the world and it's granny knew it was for monetary reasons, and that's fair enough even though I didn't agree with it, but that's life. I'm pretty sure RTE didn't object too much either, as they are probably looking at the bigger picture anyway, they also know that they have an allocation of games to televise through the year as well even though they too pay the gaa for those rights, so, who wins or loses here, well the gaa certainly don't lose simply because their games are now being televised by using two very different broadcasters, (1) sky, is a multinational worldwide brand name who bought into the gaa idea for their own reasons and because it was "gift wrapped." (2) RTE, carries the flag as our national broadcaster, that's why most of us don't mind paying our licence fee, if and when sky don't renew the contract with the gaa all is not lost as the gaa still have RTE to broadcast their games so the gaa is in a win win situation. Sky on the other hand are hoping that those unfortunate people who do not now have the opportunity to view those games will sign up for some sort of package, interesting. If RTE don't always get it right I think that may be because they're human and that's one of the reasons I like them. Come to think of it I don't always get it right myself sure didn't I predict Tyrone to beat Mayo this evening and guess what I got it wrong, because I no longer have sky (pay for view) package I followed the last few minutes on match tracker, I didn't even wait for the 6.01 RTE news/sport. You know what, if I had an energy filled level of criticism, for say in this case RTE, or to be a tad sarcastic about it, to nit pick a couple of miniscule issues I would just switch off and change over to sky, why persist with RTE and make yourself feel miserable, unless of course sky can't do any better, and if that's the case why bother with sky pay for view. supersub15 (Carlow) Sky on the other hand are hoping that those unfortunate people who do not now have the opportunity to view those games will sign up for some sort of package, interesting. Living here in the UK I'm one of those unfortunate people. The only ways I could watch todays hurling semi-final, was to go to a pub, or sign up for Sky (which I did). I say sign up for Sky, but this means buying a 24 hour pass with NOW tv (no contract) for £6.99. which entitles me to watch all sport shown on Sky. For next Saturdays AI semi-final replay I'll probably buy a weekly pass for £10.99. This will give me the Tipp v Galway game on a Sunday as well, plus all the Sky live Premier League soccer games and anything else that takes my fancy. You can spend ages trying to get a decent stream, jumping from one to another, you miss a lot of the action. Although, with the soccer I streamed nearly all the games I watched last year, and the quality was good.
