The Findlater in Dorset St in Dublin used to be great for Dublin/Meath games, the looks on their faces when they see a few green jerseys come in....priceless. Cant remember the name of it but had a great time in the pub nearest to the ground in Newry in 07 when the Meath fans took it over.

Larry Tompkins in Cork is a good bar. I suspect that most bars run or owned by former players would be good GAA houses.

The Orchard? not a chance. Blakes on Upper main street. Even though the pints are dire and you dont get the most welcoming of welcomes
_____________
You could be right would'nt be a regular haunt of mine though I only ever watched on game in there (Tyrone v Dublin replay in 2005) and it was wedged - atmosphere was brilliant though come to think of it - it was the AI fleadh weekend from memory so maybe that helped. Blakes is more of an acquired taste as are central or downtown. Don't really drink much in Letterkenny used to like the cottage back in the day.

Thought you would have preferred the crowd in one of mcGeehans spots - Wolfe tone maybe ??

Home of the former county gaelic football secretary, a shrine to Kilkenny hurling, and the altar where pints are drunk when the Village win. And its across the road and down a bit from Star hurleys; 200 yards from the scholl Brian Cody teaches in, and down the road from the finest chip shop in Ireland, Larkins. But don't ask for a bloody mary. You will be asked is that some sort of alcopop and offered a apple mickey finn instead. Even when you explain its tomato juice and vodka, they laugh at you. Tomato juice in a pub. I'm never bringing my girlfriend their again. One for me and my Dad. What's Langton's like ? and where is Delaney's ?,heard theres meant to be a good bit of GAA memorabilia in Langton's aswell ?.Last few times I wen't to Nowlan Park I wen't into the O'Loughlin Gaels bar before it.Some gorgeous pint's of Bud in there, fantastic set up aswell, but I'm gonna change me scenery before the Galway game.

Fredrickwood I have to agree with you, Down the Hatch is number 1 after a game in the Hyde and Knockcroghery's pubs as a whole as great for it ( as well as the post drinking chipper parked outside the door, great grub!)
The Clubhouse in Kiltoom has to be mentioned as a great pub on the grounds of a club.
Castle Inn pub in Athlone, Kelly's in Lecarrow, GrassHopper in New Jersey, Heard that Larry Tompkins in Cork is a great bar. Kennedys before and after a game in croker, sadly was never for a ros game. Flannerys. What about all the other footballer owned pubs? Like Paidi O Se's,Brogans, Dooleys etc?
