In either code Galway are NOT the favorites to win. I'd say Limerick in the Hurling and still Dublin in the Football would be the favorites but I have seen any odds. Tipp had a very good Football team a few years back when they hammered Galway in the playoffs. Their hurlers are always a threat to win but for a few years there their footballers were very good too. Tipp would have produced good footballers alright but they'd have a job of being as much a threat as the hurlers and wouldn't have the strength and depth you need to take on the big boys. Tipp won the 2011 minor final trump beating dublin, they also lost the 2015 minor final to ourselves, they got to the 2013 u21 final as well against Tyrone. I guess the gate receipts and maybe some sponsorship from some Australian companies such as Fosters or Quantas, etc. would go a long way in paying for the venture. I don't think you would ever do it for Football in Australia, it would always have to be hurling. I would say the League Final would be a good idea. Australia has to many different types of Football already and they all think theirs is superior to the other in an almost evangelical way, so bringing Gaelic Football into a crowed market place I don't think would get the local buy-in. Europe and Asia would be better for Football. Perhaps even the timing may be later in the year after the championship is done.
