Things That Seemed Ridiculous At Start Of Decade That Actually Happened

Tipperary would reach 3 all Ireland football finals in 5 years (2 minor and 1 under 21) winning one of them and beating a Dublin minor team of players that between them have since accumulated 45+ (estimate) senior all Ireland medals.

Replying To Tacaí Liatroma:  "Are there people on here whinging about the 5 in a row? Christ. I predicted that if it happened, the good Kerry football people would stop at nothing to rewrite history and do a 6 in a row, and that will be a life's goal for players and managers alike. If they see themselves as some sort of kings of football, let them regain the record ASAP and put these jackeen upstarts in their place. The cheek of them to steal Kerry's 5 in a row."
They didn't have a five in a row to begin with!

Happy new year to you my old friend."

Tipperary becoming a contender in football (and there was me thinking nothing could be worse than the feeling of getting beaten by them in hurling... :) )
Cork's complete fall from grace in both codes.
Mayo fielding one of the best football teams the country has ever seen, and still not lift Sam.
Leinster becoming such an absolute joke of a province in terms of football. Sure, Dublin has huge population advantages, but last time I checked a census report and map, Meath and Kildare are hardly underpopulated counties, devoid of infrastructure and support.
Galway football still in the doldrums; we flattered to deceive two years ago with a good league performance, but our championship runs outside of Connacht have been pitiful.

And at club level, my own Corofin, well, what more need I say!
