The game has evolved, the rules need to keep up with it. I think teams would pressure more if they knew the other team couldn't go back over the half way line, instead of packing it in inside their 45.

Yeah it would be interesting to see it trialled.

I would also like to see a trial game where each team is restricted to 7 players on each end of the pitch

If there were to be a mandatory kick over both 65s, the attacking team would need a recipient down field. If he were to be over marked, space would open up for the attacking team to find an open man. Conclusion - defence would need to diversify attention toward man-to-man. omahant (USA) - Posts: 2535 - 01/01/2020 20:43:03 2256766 Link 0 |
Can you claim a mark if you catch a 45 that drops short? tommy132 (Mayo) - Posts: 597 - 07/01/2020 12:51:17 2257955 Link 0 |
Happy New Year. I've moved from Antrim, I transferred to a club in Meath. Stopped playing but go to the odd club game now. The idea that the game is broken I just find hard to accept. It's certainly not in need of radical change and what can happen at intercounty level where teams can often be mismatched isn't all that reflective of the enjoyment levels at other levels of the game. Are their bad/negative teams/coaches. Yes Can games be hard to watch at times. Yes Are the rules the problem. I don't believe so Whammo86 (Antrim) - Posts: 4172 - 07/01/2020 14:41:55 2257988 Link 9 |
