That's incredible patk. Think he's a superb player, amazing he didn't start until that late.

I believe he was big into athletics in his teens (following his brother who was very talented), so that explains his pace and fitness. Then when he got into football, that pace was a huge asset at club level, and he picked up the footballing skills quick enough. He's improved immensely for us over the last few years, able to bomb forward and take a point on the run from the wing, just as natural as any wing back.

Maybe ask Noel Hickey - three goals in 2010 final and hurler of the year.

At least he won his 2 senior AI with his own county and wasn't a turn coat like a certain Mr Tompkins and Mr Fahy who jumped the Lillywhites ship to win their 2 senior AI with the Rebels. Then when Micko was trying to work a miracle and win an AI for ya he realised there was a shortage of decent footballers in Kildare. He went further afield and tried very hard to get our better than decent footballer the 2 time All Star winner Declan Browne to declare for Kildare he turned him down.

HerEs a good one
Damien comer from galway who is now one of the most powerfull full forwards in the game
Well he didn't even make his school team
and not a suprise make he did not make the county minor panel either
He said later in interview that he felt he prob didn't have confidence at the time
But within a year after not making the school n minor panel
He was playing midfield for the Galway u21 team who went on to win the all Ireland that year
I think one of the u21 management spotted him playing in a junior game for annaghdown
