Right all you real Gaa buffs. Can we have a serious discussion on the money Dublin Gaa receive I can accept that as per head of population there is nothing wrong with the amount they receive as every other county receives the same per head of population so no prob there. Where the problem lies is and being honest I will tell you what people think in our 32 county Gaa world they are asking them self's does the Dublin goal keeper S. C GET OUT OF BED EVERY MORNING AND GO TO HIS PLACE OF Work I. E a lecturer in DCU I think and give lectures. If the Dubs want to quash these constant jibes about money let some body come out yes he does go to his place of work and lecture and do let us the last time at the very when he did and the same applies to the rest of the Dublin squad or is it that the squad are being paid as full time professionals and do not go to work at all. That is what people think that is where the funds are going to keep these guys as full time pros for 6 months of the year. No other county can afford this so it it is not a level playing field for all. I have done my research here in kerry and have done some research in Cork as well and the majority of the players are going to work and training. Would some in Dublin clear it up and it will stop the snipping. Tell the truth and if you do not know research it and confirm what is true

Hiya "Gerry".

Hope you are well bud.

I've done a small bit of research and from the studies ive done I can confirm that Dublin 2015-2019 is, a 5 in a row winning team thus making them the greatest team senior mens GAA team in both codes, of all time.

I can also confirm that Dublin will winter well.

And furthermore, I can confirm that in 2020, we will be going for 6 in a row.

Hope my studies help. Have a pleasant day.

My kindest regards.

Dont want the sniping to stop to be honest.

I like the narrative, it gets into the opposition heads, creates an aura, infuriates opposition fans and you see teams afraid of their lives of us. Just recently we saw Kerry lumping in long balls instead of progressive play, playing blanket defenses, while we knock the ball around in front of them, its one of the most confidence draining things for an opposition team ever and they all must leave Croke Park feeling inferior and confidence drained. Why would we want that to stop.

Im all for perpetuating the narrative to be honest, it works to our advantage. I was whipping up the debate myself most of the year to distract from the pressure of five in a row.

I couldn't give less of a flyer what someone the far side of Lucan thinks or believes about Dublin, its irrelevant to us ultimately as it doesnt impact on the came in Dublin, either club or county.

We equally dont seek or want acknowledgement or validation, we do our thing and we are the most well supported county in the country that will never change, we dont need anything else really.

Good christ!

He's a secondary school biology teacher, not a lecturer.

And yes, last time I checked, secondary school teachers are required to turn up at their place of work.

This is a seriously selective and malicious post! Only Cluxton is singled out.

I also happen to be a university lecturer (overseas). If the DCU workload is anything like mine, then the lectures there go to work 30 weeks per year (two semesters of 15 weeks per semester). For the other 22 weeks what we do every morning would be our own business, but we would not need to get up and go to work. If Cluxton happens to be in that boat, then more power to him.

Your 'research' seems to be very selective and very limited-inane actually, with a strong stench of bitterness and deaf off it.

Here's your next research project for you, if you happen to be so interested in what or what not these Dublin players do: follow Jack McCaffery around for a day, a week or even a month in his job. You wouldn't last ******* time, you miserable loser.

This is one of the most pathetic posts that I've ever read here on HS.

Kerry are truly hurting over Dublin's success. I can't see Kerry people getting over this success. The only research that needs mentioned is Kerry failed in 1982 and all other GAA teams have also failed. Dublin won the 5 and if I was a Kerry person I'd keep the hurt out of national domains and try to get over it amongst Kerry GAA channels. It's becoming painful to watch for other GAA folk.

Ahh here. This is a wind up. Someone has surely hacked the OP's account and deliberately tried to make him look stupid.
From what I can make out the poster is asking about Stephen Cluxton's profession.
He is a secondary school science teacher in a northside Dublin suburb.
No, he is not an AFL player like Tadgh Kennelly or Tommy Walsh, he is actually a full time teacher. And a brilliant one at that.
No, he could never afford to give up his day job unlike Kiaran Donaghy or Darran O'Sullivan in order to focus on his football career.
So just to make this very simple for you Gerry: He is a Full timer teacher; he is an amateur sportsman.............

unlike some Kerry footballers.

I hope that settles your....query.

I have not. And why should I? You even got Cluxton's job wrong. The whole basis of your research is foundationless.

So go through the whole Dublin squad, and tell us all their jobs, but more importantly the amount of time they don't spend at work. But at least, get the first premise right: know the respective that each player does.

Some posters might think this post is a wind up, but I've been reading this fella's impotent posts for ages now. Impotent, we can scan and bypass. When a post becomes malignant--maligning Cluxton in his work and job, then fir me that's time to comment.

I'm a bit puzzled as why this post was even allowed. It's clear non-truth about Cluxton, his work ethic and his job.
