You had 100e on 14/1 shot???? With decisions like that you are surely to be well out of pocket by now and just winning few pound back from bookies at this stage.....

Really...are we being serious....it was an ordinary game..nothing more nothing less...there was a total of 15 wides and 5 shots hit into the goalkeepers hands..therefore 20 scoring chances kicked away...twenty! And we think it's a great game mayotyroneman (Tyrone) - Posts: 1821 - 02/09/2019 20:00:55 2232066 Link 2 |
Disagree. This game was as good as you can hope for. Fair enough, donegal v Kerry was an excellent game as well, but there was less at stake in that one as both teams had one chance after it if defeated. Galway v Ross was not nearly as exciting. Mayo v Donegal was a scrappy game, yes exciting, but not the same quality.

What games compare is a matter of opinion. The stats don't lie...it was neither a fantastic if a great game...rte will claim all day long it was a great game because it will mean serious advertising revenue during the replay...just because rte says it was a great game does not mean it was a great game...it was an ordinary game..which happened to be the final

You've made some terrible points so far. How on earth you thought Galway-Roscommon was a better game, I'll never know. Galway didn't score for over 30 mins of the 2nd half in that match. It was full of lateral handpassing attacks going nowhere. For Roscommon supporters, I'm sure it was a great occasion, but for a neutral the quality from one team in particular was very poor. This game was very competitive and had some excellent performances. You're saying a game needs to have 80+% of scores from play to be a quality match. A game with very few frees is usually a game lacking intensity and bite. Players were put under severe pressure in possession on Sunday. This lead to turnovers, unpredictability and a result in doubt up until the end. It also had some outstanding performances from the likes of McCaffrey and O'Shea. It was a very entertaining match. Give me that any day instead of lads slotting over scores under no pressure. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2018 - 02/09/2019 22:34:45 2232135 Link 1 |

Yes very ordinary. What was your prediction again ahead of the game?

Thank God Tyrone weren't playing this time anyway, now that would be a bad game.

Compared to the games you mentioned, the final wins all day long imo. Cavan v Armagh possibly was up there. Not a final and not the same quality either though.

I would say most people will base their opinion on having watched the game themselves and not what rte says, awful negative

The perfect game doesnt need to be flawless... There was so much at stake, so much pressure on the players, the Two teams with the most amount of all Ireland between them and Dublin trying to get the 5th in a row. Both teams put fierce pressure on shooters, always gonna be wides, I was on the edge of my seat for that match, something that can never be said for a Tyrone match. That's how you play football, we want to be entertained.id rather watch that match than a match with 2-21 scored which feels like am exhibition, both these teams have great forwards and great backs...when that happens they can cancel each other out. This would only be the best game of football you ever saw if you never watched a game before. I don't think it even comes close to the 2013 semi-final, (although Dublin pulled away in injury time) that game went over and back and you couldn't choose a winner until injury time. Sunday was exciting at times but looked to be a foregone conclusion until Kerry scored a goal.

Total rubbish. This was an brilliant game of football. Can you not watch a game in the moment and not analyse it to death. I have yet to meet one person in up here who didn't think this was a great game of football. tireoghainabu (Tyrone) - Posts: 269 - 03/09/2019 09:04:40 2232212 Link 1 |
