All Ireland Final - Who You Shouting For?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

One for the neutrals. I imagine most people are up for Kerry! But is there anyone shouting for Dublin?

So the question I ask is: Who you shouting for this Sunday? And why?

Kerry.

But just to see some change. Nothing at all against Dublin, fine team and if they do it good on them.

Dublin.
As a rule wouldn't be a huge fan of gaelic football, hurling #1 by a long shot but I love the way Dublin play.
That's mainly why I hope they win,the enjoyment I got from watching the brilliant football they've produced over the last decade.

In an era where football looked like a cross between rugby league and basketball Dublin won me over. Hope they do the 5 in a row.

Dublin...despite all our heartbreak against them, I want them to do 5 in a row. Kerry will win plenty of All Ireland's in the future.

Dublin.

This current Kerry team are very hard to like. Their exploits in the semi final really highlighted that to me.

Hopefully football wins out and Dublin hammer them.

As a Dublin man living in Limerick I can tell you plenty people west of Newcastle West are up for the Dubs. 50/50 from my acquaintances. I work with 5 Cork people and 4 are up for Dubs and one for Kerry.
That said, Mrs Walkinstown is a Clare woman and all out that side are for Kerry

Kerry.

I go for the underdog. I don't like to see a period of over dominance. I would have preferred a Mayo v Tyrone final.

In any event, I hope for a competitive game right to the wire. If the Dubs win and win by a landslide I think a bit of our game dies. Last year they won at a canter, if they continue to stretch the gap then it hurts our game. If the Dubs scrape a win by 1-2 points I think we can all be relieved. It's fine to know a team can run them for the duration but so far its proved difficult.

For the record.... I wanted Dublin to win in 2011

That's fair enough slayer. As I said I'd imagine most are up for Kerry. The whole country is green and gold this Sunday, bar Dublin of course :)

Dublin, I'd like to see a 5 in a row in my lifetime. Saw 2 sides who deserved to do it but fell short at the final hurdle.

Dublin for me. I would love to see them doing the five in a row.

I am hoping Dublin win 5 in a row on Sunday. It would be nice to see a bit of GAA history made on Sunday.
We may not see a few of the senior Dublin players in 2020, after a long playing career. I also hope Bernard Brogan make the match day squad for Dublin, a good footballer, and an OK guy.
Kerry's turn will come, with all their underage talent.

Dublin. When it comes to football I'll never shout for Kerry

Aside from that, while I don't believe it is good for football that one team dominates, I would like to see history being made with a team winning 5 in a row.

It might also put an end to Kerry people reminding us that they are the Aristocrats of Football.... but unlikely

Dublin, to see a team do 5 in a row is an unbelievable achievement
Best team I've ever seen play the game

From reading the comments no anti Dublin bias here... plenty of anti Kerry feeling from Cork and Mayo supporters though!

Jesus I'm shocked and surprised that there is so little love for the Kingdom on this forum. In all the years I'm on here I've never detached that antipathy if not downright hostility ;D

One fella above going on about our 'exploits in the semi final', wonder what the hell that's supposed to mean.

Sure look Dublin will win handy on Sunday and ye can all bask in the Dubs reflective glory, even if most of ye are too tunnel visioned in yer hatred of the Green and Gold to see that our opponents represent the death-knell of what the GAA is meant to be all about ;)

As a Corkman. I'll root for Kerry on Sunday. If my county doesn't / can't win 5-in-a-row, I don't want anyone else to do it.

Dublin and by a big margin. The more they win the sooner we'll have change.

It's posters like you and other kerry posters on this forum that would sway the neutrals support in Dublins favour. The amount of bitter tripe Ive read out of you lot on this forum over the past few months has been phenomenal.

Kerry have dominated nearly every decade of the last 100 years, Dublin are dominating this decade!! How dare anyone challenge the status qou, aye!!!!

The main thing I want to see is the result to be in doubt coming into the final few minutes.

I have always had a soft spot for Kerry football though so I will be cheering them on. However I've great admiration for this Dublin team, they are great champions and ambassadors for Gaelic football so I would be happy to see them win the 5 in a row if it came to it.
