Kerry unsportsmanlike your having a laugh!!! There was incident in the second half when a Dublin player was carrying the ball along the hoganstand side when he was squirted with water.

I'm saying that those who questioned his appointment made his job all the more difficult. The undertone of these scurrilous individuals was that he was not the right person for the job. They're not commenting now though funnily enough about how he performed. Pure and simple , they were trying to pressurize the man and he having a hard enough job as it was. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 02/09/2019 21:23:14 2232105 Link 2 |
It's the Full back line in my view is doggy especially Cooper (he was at the same crack in last years Semi Final...unnecessary fouling v D. Comer resulting in a penalty) P. McMahon is another bogey for the Dubs if he starts in the Full Back Line. If every unmarked half back was sprinting up into the full forward line then they would score too. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2188 - 02/09/2019 21:36:37 2232112 Link 0 |
The ref did what he had to do. He could have brought Cluxton back a bit for the penalty- but the man did well to save it, all the same. Kerry did not convert enough chances early on. They also got the yips late on. Dublin, for their part, had a 'mare at midfield and also got the yips at the end. Saturday week. A new day. A new dawn. And I'm feeling good! plike (Kerry) - Posts: 569 - 02/09/2019 21:46:55 2232116 Link 0 |
Could it be he wasn't right ?Could it be you'd like to believe otherwise ? It doesn't say a lot for Kerry's midfield if he wasn't right and ye had 15 v 14. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 02/09/2019 21:51:57 2232117 Link 3 |

Thought Paddy Small was a liability when he came on.Kicked the ball away when 14 man Dublin needed to retain possession and work scores. endgame (Roscommon) - Posts: 2141 - 02/09/2019 22:02:34 2232122 Link 1 |
I seen that young lad, didn't he play fullback for the Dublin minor team? Jack Barry has marked Fenton out of it in the last 3 games now and I doubt he was ill on all those occasions . Look it's nothing for Fenton to be ashamed of ,sometimes you just come up against a better player. Who knows jack Barry might be ill the next day.

Jays , you're remembering all the Dubs names now. They must be burned into your brain from all the wallopings ye got over the last few years from them. I doubt there were too many programs thrown yesterday. The ref must have done ok so for ye. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 02/09/2019 22:43:11 2232138 Link 1 |
He gets sick n Jack Barry's pocket every time they meet!! Defensively the dubs are spooked big time by Kerry and the best of it is our forwards didn't play all that well..roll on da replay

Maybe Fento should show Jack his medal collection some day.

I don't want to rerun the whole thing again but most - maybe not all - who objected to him did so on principal, the principal being that someone living and working in Dublin should not be refereeing a Dublin match. I made that point on this site back in April so clearly it was not directed at Gough. I dont think that having that view makes me 'scurrilous'. No one - certainly not in the media - has addressed the principal at issue here - i find that very odd. And, as I pointed out here, Dublin actually had a referee removed a few years ago. Does that the Dublin Co. Board 'scurrilous' ? Aibrean (Kerry) - Posts: 263 - 02/09/2019 23:10:42 2232152 Link 0 |
He's done fine on him to be sure. It's up to Brian to raise to the challenge I suppose. To be fair, it's hard to make a clear statement on it, Kerry have been away from any real meaningful game in the championship for a good few years up to yesterday. He can be on top of all the league games he likes for their importance. If Brian has a similar game the next day, I'll agree with you. But quality always tells in the end in my experience. Brian is a true great. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4441 - 02/09/2019 23:14:02 2232153 Link 2 |
I don't much about him but I heard some of the commentators on the radio saying afterwards that he is good for a long range point and they brought him on for that reason with space a premium in the Dublin inside forward line.
