Kerry V Tyrone

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

The geaney sludden incident was huge, tyrone attacking and had a man taken dow. Result throw up followed by a soft free and point to kerry. Could have been black for geaney and a free in.

Agree the ref was giving Kerry easy frees all day, but sorry, cannot have any sympathy for anyone named Sludden after his uncles performance some years ago

Was hoping tyrone would do it and they looked for a large part of that game that they would but there was serious dependency on cathal mcshane for scores which to be fair when he started missing a few as all forwards do Kerry seemed to grow in confidence from this and kick on. McCurry and mcalisky were brought on when the damage was done.Suprised Tyrone didn't go with more scoring forwards when that Kerry defence was there for the taking.

It's not a surprise Tyrone had McCurry and the likes on bench. Lee Brennan would be a natural corner forward and left the panel early in the year, so did Ronan O Neill. They play too cautious, to get any freedom for the forwards.

Replying To Wally:  "I don't think your bias is going to wash this time. You are very much in the minority today. The ref definitely had a major factor on the outcome of that match.

He was responsible for at least 4 easy Kerry frees which was the winning of it at the end of it all.

But sure there will be no talking to a boy like you anyway. You clearly only see what you want to see."
Tyrone couldnt put the ball over the bar or in the net when it counted in second half with the pressure on. Had many chances and Im afraid you cant blame the ref for these misses. The goal was decisive and Kerry took that chance with a cool head. At halftime it looked different but Kerry subs were a big factor.

Replying To HighStoolBandit:  "What hard lessons? That we have to beat referees as well. That was blatent as you will ever see today."
The hard lessons are they have to tweek the game plan and bring in a couple of scoring forwards that they have and have trust in them to win ,not always been to cautious, hoping to have a lead and hold on to it ,as for refs we can all moan about them

9 out of 9 for tyrone now since 2010, and still claim to be a work in progress this decade.

constantly beaten by the Tyrones, Dublins and Mayos at crunch-time.
Its time to accept that the blanket has damaged development of many of their players over the years.

Was a strange game. Seemed to lack intensity but maybe the lack of a crowd had something to do with that. Referee aside, Tyrone really seemed to lack energy in the second half. Stephen O'Brien scored a point at one stage where the Tyrone man stood about 4 feet away and never even tried to apply pressure. Even for his goal, there were loads of Tyrone defenders around and no one bothered tracking him. It was so un Tyrone like.

On the Stephen O'Brien suspension, nothing personal against him, but for the integrity of the GAA disciplinary process his suspension needs to be upheld. When he rugby tackled that Tyrone player he knew what the potential consequences were.

Hard to see how that Kerry team will beat Dublin. Yerra, Yerra aside they just don't look ready for Dublin yet. Only thing that can stop Dublin is themselves

Replying To royaldunne:  "Don't know what game those giving out about ref are on about, the swing round the neck of the Kerry player was a black card all day if not a straight red, deegan was very kind to Tyrone"
That was close to the end. The ref had played his part more than well to ensure the result. He was feeling a bit guilty then so he tried to even things up. I am glad that I decided to watch it rather than go to Croke Park to see a great All Ireland semi final. It had the makings of a great one but for me spoiled by wrong decisions by the ref.

All jokes aside man, that comes across as pretty bitter. Deegan is not a great ref but Kerry were better today and deserved their win, it's best to take it on the chin and move on rather than cry foul.

Not sure if Tyrone needed another final defeat and who'd be interested in watching it. Kerry Dublin final a guaranteed hypefest.
Dublin are on their way to their easiest All Ireland ever. Nobody comes close to their professionalism and relentless power, they have super players and even the less skillful of those are absolute machines.
34000 shows the excitement in Tyrone at the prospects for this year.
On the referee, yes he's poor but Tyrone live on the edge and have had plenty of good refs in the past.
Kerry haven't a hope. Lots of rubbish talk will build up Kerry's chances but barring a catastrophe of biblical proportions 5 in a row is certain.

Replying To tyroneed:  "The reason Peter Harte was quiet is that he was being constantly fouled off the ball, not once or twice but constantly and quite a few times in front of the referee."
It's something Kerry regularly do effectively and without much said about it. That said, big games are for big players and Harte didn't do enough. Had a big goal chance and should have made sure of it.

Congratulations to Kerry

Well done

Hard luck Tyrone.. gave it a right good go and it must be an odd one for Mickey that he just cant reach back to back finals!

Kerry deserve to be where they are

They've beaten Mayo, drew with Donegal and now knocked out Tyrone

They had the tougher side of things so credit where it's due

Keane got the run around in first half by Harte but two excellent changes at the start of 2nd half put it right which is to his credit.

Well that was a school day for our young team.
The game was played on Tyrones terms for the first half and we where woeful.
The changes worked well and Sherood and Walsh made big impacts.
Tyrone style of football is very hard to watch, you could understand it if it was a lesser team but this is Tyrone who have the footballers to play a better a better game than that.
On the hill today listening to Clifford your a wxxxxx from Tyrone fans it's great seeing them silenced by the young lad.
Finally Kerry have built a new team in two years, two years, and have made a final.
Regardless of the result in that final that is a incredible achievement.

Hope Micky Harte retires now and let's Tyrone take a new direction now. New blood & a new perspective req'd. Second half was really poor. Not even McShane is a natural scoring forward. Hope Kerry can do a job on Dub's but it is highly unlikely. Half empty Croke Park should be a suitable warning for the suits....

Bring back Anthony Nolan as referee for all Tyrone games I say. The audacity of the ref today to make decisions contrary to the supporters liking.

Poor game between two average sides, refereed by a terrible referee. The side with the better forwards won in the end, but still overall, Tyrone should have beaten them. What McGeary was doing, only he knows, straight up the pitch, goal, game over. Because this Tyrone team's biggest failing is total lack of leaders.

At least we don't have to get destroyed by Dublin, bad luck Kerry.
