Kerry were missing Moran Barry JOD Peter Crowley that I can think of off the top of my head.

What a game that was today, serious credit to both teams. Score-taking of the highest calibre. Even in wet conditions as the game went on. That was a privilege to watch.

I wouldn't dismiss Mayo's chances either; that said, it is no secret that McHale has become something of an anti-fortress for them as their record there of late is less than impressive.

With everything to play for, it should be a great game.

They were missing a lot of supporters aswell.
Shameful turn out from these called fans.
Mayo and Donegal put them to shame.

Really enjoyable game between two quality teams.

Good game. Thought O Baoill did well when he came on, as did Gallen. The replacement for Kerry Sherwood made a difference for Kerry when introduced. Thought our forced Substitutions meant our legs were gone late on in the game.

Some battle now in Castlebar in two weeks. Winner takes all. Mayo and ourselves will relish the two week break.

And why does Colm O Rourke feel the need to stick the boot into Clifford. Spouting on about how his coronation will need to be withheld for another while. He scored three important points today.

Fair play to both teams. Best game in years. Two top quality teams coming face to face - a rare thing these days. McHugh was superb but Murphy is the man. Without those two and McBrearty, Donegal would be nowhere. That was never a penalty to Donegal btw. (Yes, I know the ref is a fellow countyman)

The big diffrerence is Dublin take every chance they get
theres no second chance with them"
Today's match was real battle for 75+ minutes, and neither side were at full strength on paper. Donegal already missing 3 of their best 6 defenders, will be worried that they lost their midfield duo of Hugh McFadden and Jason McGee to injury. Kerry will expect to beat Meath in the final game, and it means Mayo v Donegal will now be a massive battle.

As for Dublin, they do have a high Shot/score conversion rate, but this stems from them dominating their own kick-outs and also the oppositions, something neither Donegal or Kerry will give up so easily. Jim Gavin will be hoping Tyrone give them a stiff test in Omagh, as otherwise he will know his team are potentially facing a semi final against a team who can seriously put it up to them for 70+ minutes.

Tricky match for Donegal in Castlebar next, especially with the injuries and Mayo's resurgence.

Donegal missing, McGrath, Neil McGee, Ban Gallagher, Odhran McNeilis and Kieran Gillespie, you can add in both midfielders going off injured McGee and McFadden.

Was thinking the same while watching the game today rhudson.

Dubs have nothing to worry about.

But the race for second spot is intriguing.

Forgive my ignorance but what happens if Donegal and Kerry win next time out? Points difference? Goals scored? Quality of the yoddeling at half time???

I was closer to it, he threw the ball into the goal. Full on catch more or less.

Yes all the analysis seems to take Donegals injuries in to account but no mention that Kerry are missing both first choice midfielders one of whom was colossal last week, a former POTY, and Peter who would be their leader at the back if he was available.

What a game that was. A battle right to the end. Murphy and McHugh were absolutely unstoppable for Donegal and caused so much damage. I think Kerry will benefit from this game enormously. Well done to both teams.

What a game we have in store in Castlebar in two weeks time now, it's going to be a belter. Kerry should be better than Meath and just need to keep focused. I think talk of who might face Dublin is premature, it would not be a shock to anyone if Tyrone beat them.

They were and Donegal were without Neil Mc Gee, Paddy Mc Grath and Eoin Ban. Then they lost both midfielders to injury. Great chance for the fringe players on both panels to get experience of a big game. It will bring them on plenty. Some certainly put their hand up for a start the next day. Great game and draw a fair result!
