Seems completely mad, logistically and when you consider the situation with PUC.

Id be happy enough to forfeit our game against them in Croke Park for a spin to the Pairc.

Would ye? And ye wouldn't go to portlaois at all yesterday, of course ye thought all yer boys had to do is turn up and ye'd beat Laois sure.

Dublin declined an opportunity to toss a coin for the 2001 quarter-final v Kerry. Dublin's preference was for the neutral ground of Thurles! ;)

What I'd give for Clare to be playing just 1 game in 6 days.

According to Dalo not many of yous showed up in Tralee for Kerry's game v Laois.

Just thought the team had to show up yourself?

How do you he was thinking that? Also, What does hurling in Portlaoise have to do with this thread?

The joys of being a dual county, we've often have to put up with this for years, sometimes double headers would make more since, I think a lot of cork fans wouldn't have mind playing both matches in Mullingar over the weekend

You know the old saying.

God thought Kerry GAA needed to learn some humility, so he gave them a hurling team! ;)

The way around it would be that super 8 neutral games are not specified to be in Croke Park but in any neutral venue.

Kerry v Donegal and Cork v Tyrone probably should be Croke park. Thurles is too far south and Clones too far north. So unless they are split up to Hyde Park, Tullamore or Port Laois, I can't think of a better suitable venue.

But no reason Dublin v Roscommon could not be in Clones or Tullamore. Mayo v Meath could be in Hyde Park or Tullamore.

They could not put Dublin v Cork on the same day as the hurling as it was (potentially) a triple header then with Cork v Kilkenny and Tipp v Dublin. There probably would not be enough seats.

Does the neutral game have to be in CP?

There's no reason why this weekend's games could have been doubled up either Saturday or Sunday

Rules are each team has a home game, an away game and a game in Croke Park. (It's not stated as Neutral)

Not necessarily neutral though under the rules unfortunately. One match in Ctoke Park.

There was a way. Beat Kerry in the Munster final and it would be Mayo in PUC this weekend.!!!

Kerry are consistently enough in the top 16. If hurling stuck with divisions of 8 teams, Kerry would be a Division 2 team.

There's been a lot of chopping and changing of competition formats. There's very little traction to gain rivalries at these levels.

I think McDonagh and Ring groups of 6 can help establish these two competitions along with both finals being a double header on the day before the Leinster Football final.

It was the club players that forced the association to condense the duration for playing the championship, which is
regretful.
