Replying To browncows:  "No tractors on Sunday-sabbath observed, the keep the tractors locked up!. The best way going from Kells /Navan is up the N3, go on Cavanbypass and continue on main Rd where by Belturbet is bypassed (very good road from Cavan to the Fermanagh border). Go thu Teemore/ Derrylin and into Enniskillen, head out towards Brewster park and go Irvinstown Rd where you turn left and head to Kesh and then to Pettigo. You then head over the mountain into Old Laghy. Go to Donegal town bypass and then thru the Barnsmore Gap to Ballyboyey- have a pleasant journey as a good day is forecast. This is the route most Donegal folk take to Donegal town and would not normally be busy on Sundays."
As you enter Enniskillen, take the first bridge over the Erne and continue straight through on to the Irvinestown Rd. At Trory Cross roundabout, about three miles out the Irvinestown Rd,, go left onto the Kesh road. It's a straight run to Pettigo, then turn left for Donegal Bypass. Safe travelling

I head up through Sligo. Totally different from most Meath people, at least the car won't be dancing on ice on way home. Got to say I travel a lot, but coming home from ballybofey after the league was one of the most terrifying experiences I have ever had, especially with two lil ones asleep in the car.

You're adding a lot of miles on yourself there royal.

As someone who travels to Dublin on a weekly basis the Cavan, Enniskille, Pettigo route is the shortest if you're travelling from south Meath.

I take it your experience had to do with bad road conditions?

Behave yourself.

He was driving home from Ballybofey in icy conditions with his young children in the car.

Who wouldn't be scared?

Unfortunately it does not always give you the best route, or best roads. Another route that regular drivers take (and not busy) is N3/B108/Florncecourt/Blacklion/Garrison/Beleek/Ballyshannon on to the N15 probably the quickest route avoiding Enniskillen but you will not get it on Google unless you know the route to input . Personally I am not a fan of Google as a good map will always beat it. Looks like a really good sunny day.

Now it'd all depend on what part of Meath you're coming from but not a bad route could be up the M1 turning off for Armagh just coming through Newry, Armagh, Caledon, Aughnacloy, Ballygawley, Omagh, Newtownstewart, Sion Mills, (you could turn off before there and go back roads to Ballybofey) Strabane, Lifford, Castlefinn, Killygordon, Ballybofey .....only because I live in Newry that's the route I'm taking, may be an alternative....

Oh some of the worst I have ever driven, the road was glistening in front of me, I crept home, herself was waiting up , it took me hours to get back man, as I said what made it worse was the two kids in the car, they were fast asleep, but my nerves were shot, and even though there was some gritters out it didn't seem to make much difference. If it had to be done again I probably would have stayed home. That been said it was a great game

Best of luck to the Meath team. The whole country wants us to fail but hopefully we can put in a performance to be proud of.

Do you not know your county at all muckross.Going from Enniskillen to Ballybofey you wouldn,t go by Pettigoe and Donegal. It is 40 miles from Enniskillen to Ballybofey.Anybody from around Navan would probably go to slane a d pick up the N2.

Will be taking the M3 - Cavan - Enniskillen - Along the banks of beautiful Lough Erne - Ballybofey. Haven't been as excited for a game/ series since 9 was a 9 year old watching Meath v Kerry and Mayo in Croke park in 2009 on the hill.

Connor lane is going to have to be on top of his game , and let no player get in his ear. He is the one reffing game not any of the players.
