Mayo V Galway

Jesus we've little to be complaining about. We both still have a chance of reaching the Super 8s. May the best team win.

Just to warn You though I know You love bitter but You wont find it in any of the lovely Limerick pubs"

For me it's mayo despite the amount of injuries, until Galway actually come up and go man to man , which is a pity as I have a soft spot for Galway (always have had) but their current way of playing is doing them no favors at all . Hopefully they will be allowed to take the shackles off and go for it. If they do they win. But I don't think management will allow that. Pity. But here's hoping"
This post has upset a few but I'd say it's pretty accurate to be fair.

Looking forward to this one. Work with a few Galway people and they seriously don't like to see Mayo football team doing well, I always find it a good laugh how quickly they are in with a put down if anyone ever praises Mayo. Seems like a good rivalary.

Replying To brisbane:  "Strange if youre a connacht gaa fan but youre Anti connacht funding. I said "GAA need to invest some money into connacht stadiums" Translation upgrade Hyde Park so it can host Connacht finals and Qualifiers. Why do you think I want a 35K+ stadium in Leitrim???? Galway cant even hold 35k...Just because limerick is close to you it isnt the case for evenyone and has less bus and train services then dublin.

Also The distance between your home and your place of work is your commute you wont be commuting to limerick just to watch a game"
Hyde Park is being upgraded. Planning permission was submitted a few months ago for the work needed. It's not ready yet obviously to host the expected capacity, so there's no alternative in the province. That's why it's not in Connacht.
Therefore, Limerick is one of the closest options with the required capacity.
Croke Park is soulless unless there's a crowd of 50K plus. Limerick is a much better choice.
It's not just closer to me, but pretty much everyone else in Galway. We need as many at the game as possible, as we know we're going to be outnumbered anyway.

Which is which? Galways injuries are as bad as Mayo's

a lot of people, including the Tomá O Sé's of this world had a "soft spot" for Galway when Galway used to rock up against their team, play lovely open football, barely put a tackle in all game, and take a high scoring 5 point loss.

In a staggering, quite shocking development when Galway turned up to Croke park to win their first meaningful game there in nearly 20 years and beat kerry for the first time in 53 years last summer the style of play was an issue and Galway suddenly were not the housewifes favourite anymore.

Draw your own conclusions.

Who are Galway missing?

Certainly for Mayo, the problem is not alone the amount of injuries but the amount of them that are occurring around the middle of the field, Parsons, SOS, Keegan, Ruane, Diarmuid O' Connor and possibly Jason Doc and AOS. Take all of those players out and you're missing a huge amount of regulars/ experienced options in the engine room. I know D Vaughan came back for the Armagh game but he's only just back and is unlikely to be up to full sharpness just yet.

Agree! May they both play football, attacking intelligent football, off with the shackles and may the better team win!

Galway have no midfielders fit at all. They have Peter Cooke who's coming back off a longterm injury. Conroy, Duggan, Flynn, O'Currain are all hobbled. Comer very unlikely to play and now rumours a starting defender is out

O Shea a doubt now, jeepers lads I don't think I've ever seen an injury list like it.

Really unlucky stuff, I'm nearly going to put money on Mayo now, be some story and just the team to do it.

Would be a not so bad year if we made the super 8s with all the injury set backs....I know every team gets injuries but with our age profile and "miles on the clock" it's a big ask....I keep hearing about Galways huge talent pool so even with their few injuries they must really fancy their chances now....

That said Mayo won't give an inch and I'll be there roaring them on...they deserve it after all the enjoyment they have given us since 2011

O Shea will be fine or will be as fit as he has been, he was wore that ankle boot after a few games. He hasnt been able as mobile in last few games though, not getting off the ground for kickouts as he usually would.
If Galway have Flynn and O Curraoin fit and i think they are fit then they will win mid field as these two will win kickouts. I dont think they are a good enough mid field in the long run but they will be good enough Saturday.

James Horan fairly lost the head with the criticism of his training techniques. Dont think ive ever seen him lose his cool before

Can we play fly goalie too? We have an issue with keeping our goalies in our own half of the pitch.
