Mayo V Galway

I look forward to welcoming some of these Donegal supporters to Castlebar in a few weeks. Some chip on your shoulders. Reminds me of the Rossies and their opinion of us.

More BS about our supposed cynical fouling. Comer came on in the 2nd half and fouled his man 3 times in the first 5 minutes. No card shown of course. Galway finished with 12 men, people need to remember that.

Commiserations to Galway. We can't seem to make life easy for ourselves coming down the stretch but thankfully we got there in the end.

Tom Flynn also dishes out a straight push in the back when he ran on the field but sure people see what they want to see..

Silke a great player but I'm sorry that was the worst penalty in gaa history , talk about telling the goalie exactly where you where putting it and then with zero power. Shane Walsh has to stand up there and take that.

Thought this was one of the most cynical games I have seen in a long time. What was the foul count, the amount of pulling and dragging was unreal. Mayo were defintely the best and look in decent shape for the Super 8s.

It must be embarrassing for the forwards on the pitch when they roll up a corner back to take a bad penalty

I think a big problem Is that Dermot Earley was commentating on our game the last 2 weeks. He clearly dislikes Mayo, which is perfectly fine unless your job is to give an impartial view of what's happening. The general public pick up on his views and treat them as fact.

The fact that Dublin Joe has a bit of making up to do with Mayo might have had something to do with that...

The fact that Galway have a below par 1-7 who can't tackle so persist with fouling and giving away silly frees might have something to do with that. If Kevin walsh and the Galway forwards / midfield could trust their backs there they wouldn't have to set up the way they do and would get All Ireland out of that team.

Replying To riverboys:  "Lets get 1 thing straight Mayo no more than Roscommon, Sligo, Leitrim always supported Galway in All Ireland championship if we are out of the competition as well as supporting the Galway hurlers but in 2016 All Ireland football final between Dublin and Mayo a family member was at a wedding in Galway, both the bride and groom were from Galway and the guests were from Galway, Mayo, Roscommon and Clare, everybody was backing Mayo their neighbours except the Galway people they were backing Dublin, that's some shower to have as neighbours, the one thing we have in the GAA is loyalty, we support our parish (club) then our neighbouring clubs, the county then our neighbouring counties, that's how it has always been and always will, fair play to the countless number of Galway people who wish their neighbours good luck but there are plenty of gobsites who should know better, we have those eejets in Mayo as well, they are in every county and deserve a decent kick up the arse. One thing in sport is to shake hands after a game and wish each other well for the rest of the year both players and supporters, unless that happens you will end up with violence in the stands and nobody wants that kind of nonsense happening, we have already seen in some club matches where trouble has happened on and off the pitch and in the stands. Wish each other well and get on with the rest of our lives. Hard luck to Galway, Laois and Cavan, best of luck to Kerry, Donegal, Meath, Clare, Dublin, Roscommon, Tyrone, Cork and Mayo, may the best team win the All Ireland title"
supporting the Galway hurlers you say????? what about the Tony Keady vote?

Also and I'm not having a dig here but introductions more Corofin players just won't solve the problem
Either. Brolly can harp on about Corofin but the fact is they are a club (great) team and not an inter county team. Ian Burke while he a very accurate forward did not get the time and space to work his magic last night and was held scoreless....that sort of intense pressure is not there in the club game.

Crossmalagen have/had a great team but that didn't mean their senior team went in to win loads of All Ireland's.

I agree with this, there is a huge gulf between club and county football. We all know great club footballers who just werent good enough at county level. Corrifin are the best club side I have ever seen but its madness to suggest they could beat a top county side. Still its baffling that a player as good as Kieran Molloy is not starting on this Galway team. The way Corrifon play should be a template for Galway.

Brisbane, please name the Corofin player who inflicted this amount of hurt on you, you must have gotten a serious hammering on the score board in some game or games. Virtually every post is about nailing Corofin players at every opportunity. But don't feel alone many of our clubs have experienced this including Nemo Rangers and Dr Crokes.

In a way its a good thing Galway lost,
Viewers wont have to suffer anymore watching turgid football, and Galway get a chance to get their identity back
under new management.

This set-up hid behind a few victories over the old rival for too long.

32 frees he gave mayo to our 12 frees in the 2013 final. He doesn't owe any favors to Mayo.
