No. Any other questions? skillet (Limerick) - Posts: 1062 - 01/07/2019 15:53:39 2203691 Link 0 |
Vicious ad premeditated definitely call for a ban . Obviously trying to deflect and minimize the consequences. Always ask at a time like this..." would you feel the same if it was your son or bother" ? I think not.

Spot on. Good to see some perspective. That's exactly the way I seen both instances too. Everyone made their mind up on what looked like a bad challenge but it was actually a phenomonal piece of defensive play. I was sure Bubbles would be sent off.

Comon now Pat how can it be premeditated?? More spur of the moment it was a great flick away but he left the ground all over in a flash u can't judge an act like that premeditated in fairness. Be happy and move on my friend. WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 01/07/2019 17:01:37 2203743 Link 0 |
Brian Gavin had his own way of refereeing. Some would say he "let the game flow" which means he wasn't applying the rules of the game. Yet he has been regularly criticising referees every Monday for not applying the rules. And if you look back over his articles over the past year he has suggested that at least four Tipperary players should have been sent off in various games. He refereed Tipp games on numerous occasions but I can't remember him ever sending a Tipp player off. He famously didn't even take any action against Tommy Walsh when he struck him in the 2001 final. Of course it wasn't deliberate but it surely constituted "careless use of the hurley" and merited some reprimand. So for Gavin to be regularly advocating red cards is a bit of a joke and his articles should be taken with a grain of salt.

Oldtourman, if it was four days or even four months away I don't think it would matter. The way Limerick played yesterday it's hard to see the All-Ireland going anywhere else. Superb team and excellent backroom team. Congratulations to all.

Everyone is mentioning how he flicked the ball first but that doesn't mean he didnt look to take out Casey at the same time Looked like your typical were 10 points down and im angry and gonna take it out on someone kind of tackle Breezy (Limerick) - Posts: 1236 - 01/07/2019 20:47:38 2203933 Link 0 |
I wouldnt be putting my house on Cork beating Kilkenny let alone Limerick. The most likely team to beat Limerick in Croke Park lost in Parnell Park and get to watch the rest of it like us fans.....

Kaster. You were blowing plenty of hot air last week about how Tipp we're going to beat us well yesterday. So I would suggest you give up the begrudgery talk, get over Limerick hammering you last year and get over Galway being dumped out of the Championship in early June.

The vast majority are saying he took him out of it actually but theyre wrong to say it was a red card offence in my opinion!

Congrats to Limerick on winning the Munster final and taking the cup home to sit nicely alongside the league and Liam McCarthy cups. Limerick made Tipp look very ordinary in the last 15 minutes. I think they are that little bit ahead of everyone else at the minute. Killarney.87 (Tipperary) - Posts: 2513 - 02/07/2019 02:37:23 2204085 Link 0 |
Not only do I think Cork will beat KK but I actually think Cork are going to win the All Ireland this year, they definitely have quality players.

What's Finn on about with limerick not getting the respect they deserved? Who hasn't respected limerick? Their a great team that could dominate for years to come. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 02/07/2019 11:04:49 2204202 Link 0 |
They are way too reliant on Horgan, Some team will nullify him or Harnedy, fitzgibbon. they won't win 3 matches on the trot. A few key injuries / Red cards against westmeath and they could be well short for the quarter final.

It will be interesting to see can they handle the physicality and intensity Kilkenny will bring. And if they do beat Kilkenny will they be able to recover in time to face an equally ferocious Limerick side?

They are probably trying to find an angle to stay motivated and hungry as champions. Neil McManus said they had the strongest panel of players in April/ May of last year and were best placed to win last year's all Ireland under the new championship structure. I agree with you, I don't think anyone is surprised by what this Limerick team has already achieved. Fair play to them they put an awful lot of work into their underage teams and it is paying off now. The 2014 minor team was very strong and atoned for their final loss to Kilkenny in the 2017 under 21 final. The Diarmuid Byrnes vintage that won an under 21 was a very good side too. There was a couple of pundits just waiting to pounce at the start of the league thinking they would not handle the pressure of being champs. When they stormed the league it became all about them trying too hard and being too good and they would run oit of steam. Just a few media pundits and certain Galway posters though for the most part people have been happy for us Breezy (Limerick) - Posts: 1236 - 02/07/2019 18:10:42 2204447 Link 1 |
