Munster Hurling Final Tipp V Limerick

Replying To football first:  "Will this be another bout of "shadow-boxing", like the game in Thurles a fortnight ago? As it's quite possible that both teams will meet again later in the summer, it might not be the "do or die" occasion that many expect. And, of course, these the fascinating possibility that Limerick could lose to Cork, Tipp (twice) and still retain the McCarthy Cup!"
Seriously doubt it.

Two excellent teams in very good form. I fancy Tipp because of their scoring options. I expect this to be a fierce battle.

Alot of people seem annoyed that Limk could lose 3 games and still win Liam
But to look at it another way we would have beaten Clare Wford and have to win all 3 AI series games against the best in the country which is more wins than alot of championships over the years. Many were won in 4 games which could often include a dead rubber semi final and in Galways case most were won in 2 games.

If Limerick win the All-Ireland it will be because they're the best team. Never mind the begrudgers!

If Limerick didn't win the All-Ireland last year - this wouldn't annoy too many people!

How many times has a Munster final between Tipp and Limerick been played in Limerick?"
Look it up"
I did. The last Munster final between Tipp and Limerick, to be played in Limerick, was a replay in 1996. The only other final was in 1922 (again a replay). So your so called "funny fact" is meaningless."]It wasn't meant to have meaning it's a fact."]Well here's another "funny fact": Kilkenny have never beating Dublin in a Leinster Football final."]Good for them I think it's time you got a new hobby buddy.
Just because I state a fact in my post means it will have a bearing of the game.

At least Limerick can put that fact to bed on Sunday but don't think yours will lose its status for a few hundred years at least!!!

The words 'entitled' Kathy
entitled
/ɪnˈtʌɪt(ə)ld/
Learn to pronounce
adjective
believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.
"kids who feel so entitled and think the world will revolve around them"

Or in other words. Feel that you can post any Sh#*é you like about a county and not be pulled up on it....
Good girl, you make our success all the more enjoyable.

There is a hare in the pack. I have tried in vain to establish where the 1911 Munster Final,in which LK beat Tipp, was played. However I am nearly sure I read somewhere long years ago that it was indeed played in the old Markets Fields. Until proven otherwise that would suggest that we have indeed beaten Tipp at in a final in Limerick, even if it was in days of yore.

Seems most of our Munster Final meetings were held in Cork up until the 40s Thurles may have held two before Killarney.
Anyway Limerick will be buzzing can't wait already.

Didn't this game happen already? How many bites at the apple does a team get?

If it is a Halloween team bonding session probably 5501. Each lad, hands behind the back face down in a pan of water & dozen apples as they snap like small crocs. Team mates wiating to lash a hurley across their arse ......

In championship terms both teams will go at it. I was in the Horse & Jockey after the last game. A big strong Tipp lad came in, jersey painted onto him like Rambo had been on a diet of chicken fillet rolls & coke. He had a fine looking Limerick lady in tow. They seemed very much in love until their chips arrived. He looked at her like a greyhound waiting for the traps to open, eyes narrowed, tongue out. As soon as her hand took one chip his plush paw lifted about 8. Love 0 Rivalry 1.

When Limerick meet Tipperary it always means something. Monday off work now for Heineken reasons and a photo of Babs Keating pinned to my dart board. Meanwhile in small towns across Tipperary they are watching Braveheart on repeat.

Two counties adjoining each other. Blue & Gold, Green & White. Intermarried. Kids born who have to decide at 2 which one to support. This is a cruel rivalry.

This is Limerick v Tipperary ................

I feel your pain festinog. in the last 20 years if a team beat Kilkenny they had a good chance of being All Ireland champions, however the competition has changed now and there is championship league to be managed. Galway messed up on 3 occasions, 1st by not scoring more V Carlow, then by letting a big lead go V Wexford but the worst was focussing on beating Kilkenny when the smart thing to do was to focus on beating Dublin and ye were through regardless of Kilkenny result.

I think "they" should save themselves any humiliation and sign a "treaty" with Tipp....wouldn't be "their" first time to sign a treaty!!

It's amazing the way the tides have turned! For years Galway could get to an All Ireland Final by playing ONE meaningful game. You may not realize but things have changed and the old days of the "Connaught Champions" and more recently the Leinster Champions (Mainly Kilkenny) having easy routes to the All Ireland Final are gone.

The new system does favor the two best teams in the country playing in the middle of August. No more easy routes!

Will Limerick or Tipp be there? Who knows. But one thing we no for certain is it won't be Gslway.
