All 9 Ulster Teams Have Made Final In Last 11 Years

28 out of 29 actually when I check again. And between 1918 and 1956 they were in every final bar 3. Some going!

But in fairness up until 1940 there were only really 4 teams at a competitive level. Of all the finals from 1900 up to 1940. One or two teams from Cavan, Monaghan, Antrim, Armagh appeared bar a few lonely appearances by:

Fermanagh in 1914 and 1935
Derry in 1921
Tyrone in 1933

Even then, there was at least one or both of those teams right up to the 1956 Ulster Final when Tyrone beat Derry and Cavan started to lose their amazing stranglehold on Ulster.

Of their 37 Ulster title wins, only 5 came after 1956

And they've only won one in 50 years.

The longest wait of any ulster counties bar Fermanagh and Antrim

Fair enough - but I suppose you could argue there are only really 4 teams competitive for the last few decades in Ulster (as in those who were going to win it) bar the odd appearance from the likes of Fermanagh or ourselves in 09.

True, but we are starting from a much more equal economic, social, political setting now. Getting a bunch of bucks together from the bog roads of Donegal to form a team was a formidable task in itself back then.

Both teams have great support when they get going and with Cavan being ravenous for success and little diesel needed to get to Clones, there'll be lot of them there....."
At least if we do run out of Diesel, we couldn't be in a better place ;)

You could run out up the Glens of Antrim and be in a better place :-)

Well they actually drew, but we're awarded the natch. One of their 'points' was wide :)

And we all know that a Meath man has to do less that the rest of us in order to be awarded a score ;)
