"Pocketing" is such a greasy turn of phrase, isn't it?

It says it all about the general tone and purpose of the article in question.

Gutter journalism.

I can tell you now that such will act as a massive motivational factor for the Dublin players across this championship.

You have to play the cards your given as well as you can.
e.g top class players in weaker Counties are free from inter county earlier. They can then play in U.S.A for 20k to 40k plus travel exps +accomodation +set up in handy job.
Dublin players lose out on that so this is some compensation

Lol will ya stop! It's a stupid article that nobody will give a second thought . A serious team would actually be laughing their asses off at this, and Dublin players will treat this as a joke in house.

I have evidence to back up my opinion

Cluxton and McCarthy have both spoken out about such. Cluxton from the lofty steps as Dublin captain after just putting down Sam.

Articles like this act as motivation, why else would similar articles have been mentioned in the past by Dublin players after a win. The tone and derogatory language used in that article would have not gone down well.

You should be glad it came out just in time. Dublin badly needed that motivation ahead of the leinster final. Is Jim gavin funding and Ghost writing these articles? God he's obviously studied the kerry Bible of cute hoorism.

Ah will you stop!! What did Cluxton and McCarthy speak out about. Everyone is laughing at this article, well everyone I know and most of the posters on here. The players might have been motivated by other things such as the funding debate etc, but I will stand corrected if you can tell me how this will motivate them!

Jim Gavin gives the press very little

Who can blame him

O'Neill was very badly taken out of context recently after Kildares Longford win. He's quoted in the papers today airing his displeasure at the press twisting his words so badly.

There's another Dubs post for you Jack. How many is that now?

Sure he even know the Dubs squad better than your own lol

Mate

I gave you examples based in fact of two prominent Dub players speaking out about negative news articles regarding Dublin. They didn't laugh off those articles and for them to speak openly about them would suggest they weren't best pleased.

Cluxton spoke out about funding, James spoke out about negative articles about their 2015 defeat to Donegal.

I will stop. As you don't seem to want to listen or st least take that on board.

I've no doubt that the derogatory nature of that article would have left a bad taste for a number of players and given the statements of prominent Dub players in the past it's not out of the realms of reality to suggest such.

You're entitled to your opinion but please stop laughing out load and telling me to stop im such such a manner when I'm giving you evidence to back up what I'm saying.

Lol and there you go. Funding and something else. We are talking about this article and how laughable it is. You have just proven my point . Read my post again. I said if they spoke out about things it wouldn't be a laughable article like this. This article is a joke, end of story.

I'm talking about the derogatory sub-context of the article

But listen I'll leave it there

You seem to have convinced yourself which is ok with me.

I wouldn't be so sure.

The funding thing is a serious issue that can cause heated debate. This is a shoddy article that has been laughed at by the vast majority from all counties. So how can the players take it serious when nobody else does. That's the point.

It's the sub-context of it chief

Its Quite distasteful

It's another cut at them based around finances expect this time done in a very personal manner while discussing their own private finances.

I wouldn't be overly impressed if my financial affairs were aired in that manner. Again there is a bit of an edge to that article, fine in a manner to further enhance a certain narrative.

The article wasn't put together tongue and cheek. It was put together to solely portray the players in a negative manner.
