Good question. It has to be more than the massive resources BBC and Sky have to schedule a game at short notice. Our first round games are set well in advance but after that and for qualifiers they can decide less than a week in advance. Looks like it's not a scheduling thing but policy to highlight the bigger counties in football and hurling even if so called weaker counties could potentially be playing some great games with potential upsets. Even so it's hard to predict what might be a cracking game.

Not everyone likes sport. Not everyone likes music. Not everyone likes political discussions. Not everyone likes Game of Thrones. They need to cater for a wide audience and even if we don't like most of what they show, I think I don't like any of it, there are more than GAA supporters watching RTE. RTE are in competition with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sky, Virgin Media, Eir, dodgy streaming sites and anything else that takes the viewers attention. The amount of competition will only get bigger and have massively more resources than them. I don't think they'll survive unless someone buys them out. Agreed. But the point is that preferential coverage on RTE does not equate to quality, as some members of a certain sporting fraternity have being claiming on here of late. I have changed what tune? There is 1 Munster hurling game on Sunday. The defending football champions are also playing. As a tv licence payer, I should be watching both on Sunday. Why not? Can anyone shed light on why Dublin are not being shown live?

It doesn't make sense to keep the defending champions off air. Something doesn't add up. The GAA are shrewd. They have invested on a provincial scale into Dublin. Surely they want to have Dublin live on the box with 60000 or so in Croke Park for the Leinster double header?

I know Croke Park is in Dublin but it's unfair on those who will not be in the 60000 strong attendance that they will be unable to watch the game on the telly.
