Litter At GAA Grounds

(Oldest Posts First)

Well after herself went outside Brewster yesterday before half time to get a few burgers and arrived back with hardly edible muck that only required a bite before being condemned to the bin! If there had of been any!I approached a couple of Stewards inquiring and they looked dumbfounded and couldn't point me in a direction of a bin and told me to throw them in a cardboard box that looked to be just discarded laying outside the toilets.

My main grip here though is the disregard fans seem to halve for the GAA Grounds the lenght and breadth of the Country they visit when it comes to litter. We often take a packed lunch to games and for ourselves and the Kids and all rubbish is took with us and disposed of properly. I Personally think Its a disgrace to leave a ground in such a mess and shows lack of respect for the ground and ground keepers. How people can just drop or throw the litter at their feet is beyond me. Litter louting is a countrywide problem in general but for me it sets a very poor example the way some of the grounds are left.

Fully agree with this.
But its GAA grounds, cinemas, beaches, canals, etc. Irish people just think that their litter is somebody else's problem.

Here's a challenge, walk for a mile in any sizeable town or village in the country and start counting. Every time you spot a piece of rubbish (fag butts, dog dirt included), restart your count. If you get to 10 I'll be amazed

Contract cleaners either immediately after game(people leave the ground) or following day will be cleaning ground i imagine. if you are in Aviva/Croke Park late after a match/concert has ended you will see cleaners all over the place cleaning everything up.
In ideal world everyone would put things in bins but not going to happen
