@kurt
I thought the attendance was reduced from 49k to 45k?"
You could nearly say Limerick are World Champions!!
Limerick will really need an off day their league campgain was one of intent and yet only Cork bet them in the league but that was practically Limericks second string.
If Cork keep with Limerick it will go to the wire but I can't see them upsetting what is now a polished Limerick team and with a strong bench should any players have an off day Cork are in for a tough afternoon.
Going to say Limerick by 9 plus cos I really can't see this Cork team turning them over which is sad given they were within a puck of a ball getting into all Ireland final last year and perhaps last two years they have found some absolute gems in Mark Coleman Darragh Fitzgibbon to name but a few.
Maybe they are not playing for Myler I don't know but this Cork team is not firing this year.

Capacity is 49,866.

Cork named the team and it reeks of panic.. Ellis gone to centre back. He was in the Blackrock End terrace watching last Sunday's match. Tim O'Mahony was centre back all league. Played poorly for a lot of last Sunday but being dropped like this for a fella who has barely played at all could be very disheartening. I have nothing against Ellis it should be said. Walsh for Kingston is strange as well... Don't see him playing corner forward but his selection means we really now only have three forwards. There is the undropable Lehane : an extremely talented player but must be comforting for him to know that he will never lose his place regardless of performance. There is Seamus Harnedy. We need him to be better this Sunday. I expect he will. Then there is Hoggie who carries all the expectation and burden for getting the scores. He usually delivers. This is a bizarre selection in total.

On the other hand there is more physicality with Walsh, Cooper etc Fitzgibbon should hopefully be much better. This should prevent the annihilation we got in the middle last week. Kearney will be busier and should get on more ball too. Maybe having played a game might give us some advantage. I don't know. Maybe clutching at straws. Not playing down our chances, we might win but Limerick are favourites for a reason. If they get a good start, I fear for Cork. Don't think Cork will react quick enough. We will see anyway. Its all speculation..

Capacity is under 45,000. Wikipedia is wrong as it is on pitch dimensions. The capacity was lowered after the Floodlight stanchions were fitted and the yellow bib brigade figured taking off a few thousand was necessary.

I agree that the Cork selection smacks of desperation. Shane Kingston had his best game in a while in my opinion and he should have been kept on. Aidan Walsh had a huge game against Limerick under 21 but that was years ago. Hes a 2 point a game man at the moment. Joyce has been poor but he shouldn't have started against Tipp and asking Downey to come in now in a game of this magnitude is hard. And in saying all that they have a chance but if they fall behind before half time I'd give them no chance to recover. Horgan will be marked tighter aswell though his form is outstanding.

Cork could still get through even if they lose tomorrow. They would have to beat Clare and Waterford. Then if it comes down to the 3 of them for the final place then Cork go through due to the 'head to head's.

Cork well and truly let the hot air out of the Limerick balloon today. Great display by them.
When you are Champions there's a big target on your back as Limerick found out today.
Crunch game for them now against a Waterford team that will be hurting after today.

Reality check..? They are all Ireland and league champions. Fact is in any given day any team in Munster can beat each other....it's a great championship. Huge crowd there today and Cork fully deserved win. Cardigan and Horgan were brilliant. I wouldn't be writing Limerick off though.

I did same thing... Cork by 1-5 points. Cork need to be consistent with this performance.

Great performance from Cork. Limericks 2 best weapons last year were being first to balls and always having a man free for the pass. Cork today stopped Limerick on both counts. No surprise really as along with Clare they were the only 2 that could stop us over the last year

Cardigan? You mean Cadogan, and which one?
Eoin gave a masterful display at full back, and Alan ran Limerick ragged.
Well done John Meyler......

Well done Cork. Didn't see the game as was in PP but a huge result for the Rebels.

With a home loss Limerick are really up against it now but a lot of hurling left to be played.
