Do Louth Have A Hope Against The Dubs?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

After their come from behind victory over Wexford at the weekend, I'm wondering what people here think the score will be when they take on Dublin in Portloaise. Can they push the mighty Dubs close on May 25th?

Afraid not, how was school today.

We will be lucky to score 0-10

Hard to make any sort of case for Louth in this one, but hopefully they can produce a performance and give the rest of us hope.

Dublin still look to be the team to beat though and will be aiming for a 10pts+ win, but the only thing I'll say is that when top teams finally do go down, it can happen very quickly. Now I don't think Dublin are anywhere near finished yet but when it does happen, it will come out of the blue for want of a better word.

True but I'd expect Dublin to win the next 10 Leinster Championships (if it still exists). The difference may be in the All Ireland series where some of the other big counties catch them. I's hard to make a case for Louth in fact it would be hard to make a case for a Leinster select to beat Dublin at the minute.

Very hard to know how many more Dublin will win, they're still by far the best team in Leinster at present so should win the next 2-3 Leinsters anyway but it can be hard to forecast after that.

I think we're slowly getting our house in order but there's still a lot of work to be done and we have to be very careful not to let standards slip. Also Kildare with their population have every chance of competing with Dublin if they can improve their setup. As for the rest, look teams can come and go all the time, they just have to do their best.

Dublin to their credit have made the absolute best out of their vast resources, they've set the standard and now the rest of us have to try and catch up. Eventually someone will, and that'll be whoever puts the most effort in.

No hope for Louth or for any of us.

Think that's a little bit more of a gap than we'll see.

Expect Louth to keep it tight, and a little rustiness from the dubs for the first 15-20mins.

Still a comfortable win, but not by 30points.

Dublin 2-20 Louth 0-12

Dublin to win. They won't win the next decade of Leinster titles.

If they get within 10 it will be superb. Same for the rest of us in Leinster.

If we stay within 15 points, it will be a positive result. We haven't scored a goal in the championship against Dublin since 1995, so would be nice to get one.
