Dublin V Kilkenny

Replying To Gaillimh_Abu:  "Looking good for Dublin at half-time. They have benefitted from a few dodgy calls and Kilkenny have good reason to be unhappy with the ref. The interception by the Dublin mentor was bizarre - surely there must be some consequences for that carry-on."
A strongly worded letter and 4-figure fine winging its way to the Dublin county board as we speak.

Important win for Kilkenny. A defeat tonight and we'd have been struggling to get out of the round robin stage with Galway coming and a trip to Wexford coming up. Pádraig Walsh much better out the field but full back still a problem position for us, it's not Paddy Deegan's position either.

Proper order. Poor sportsmanship.

I thought the big number 6 was excellent when he went back to the edge of the square for yous.

His name escapes me right now.

It was a great catch though. We could've done with him in the half forward line on the second half.

Was hoping the Dubs would win but kilkenny really aren't gone away. Wexford match is do or die for them now.

Well Done Kilkenny! As DJ Carey said during the week 'Kilkenny will find a way'. TJ Reid the number 1 role model for any hurler with serious ambitions to reach the top. He trains hard but smart and looks after himself off the field. He has been training since early last year and his consistency continues to dispel the nonsense bandied about in Wexford last Summer about overtraining and flatness. Whereas KK 'find a way' here in Wexford we too often find an excuse. Should be a cracker v Dublin next week, will define both teams Summer. If Wexford keep their discipline and take their chances they are in with a shout.

Been a bugbear of mine a while now, non-playing, non-officiating personnel being on the pitch during play. Even, when the play has stopped its ridiculous the number of, what the late great Con Houlihan used to refer to as space-invaders, that amble on to the playing area.

Yeah that's him, I thought Kilkenny looked more solid when he moved back in the 2nd half.

Huge game in the Neller now next week.

I'd nearly always back us in Donnycarney against anyone but after yesterday's 2nd half performance I'm not as confident. Really disappointed this morning.

Hugely entertaining game, I have great respect for Cody and KK as they battled against more than 15 Dublin players and yet found a way to win. Great Summer of hurling in store.

Yeah he was very poor, I can't understand why the GAA can't find/ develop better hurling referees.

TJ and Wally did enough to get Kilkenny over the line. They will always be extremely hard to beat under Cody. I wonder would any other manager have gotten a win for Kilkenny yesterday? Huw Lawlor and Tommy Walsh looked very good.

I was surprised that Moran didn't go for goal with the 2nd penalty.

I think he didn't rise it properly and decided to tap over.

Haven't seen a TV replay but that's how it looked to me from the stand.

Any kind of win in the first round is important and Cody will be delighted. The changes made the difference but some strange calls in the first place to put Deegan at 3 and Lawlor at 6. Padraig Walsh is also too good of a half back to play anywhere else.
Dublin will be disappointed. They have an exceptional half back line and O'Donnell is the best full back in the country. Also Rushe is a machine at full forward. They still have a chance to go through.

Personally I didnt think KK would get through Leinster but I'll eat my words now and give them a chance in salthill. I'm unsure of the availability of players to Galway but they named a surprising looking team for this weekend (similar to their league team) . A similar team for KK game and KK have a good chance of taking them.

I guarantee you that Kilkenny won't win in Salthill. Not this year anyway as they play us in Nowlan.
