Going to the match myself and will be interesting to see the level of dubs support."
We'll have our usual cohort of supporters I'd say. Won't be massive but there should be a decent crowd overall.

I won't be putting money on this one. If Dublin win it, it'll be by a few points. If it's close then kk are likely to win it as they rarely loose close games.

For me however, Dublin have a chance to win Leinster this year. Kk aren't the force they were and I think both Wexford and Galway may not be at the level they were in other seasons. Galway will improve as the season goes on for sure but as regards the Leinster cship I think Dublin have a decent chance of winning it....
A lot obviously depends on Saturday though

A lot of underage hurling fixtures on in Dublin on Saturday afternoon which will stop a lot from travelling unfortunately.

Why not? Its not like it has never happened, or that it is KK 09-10-11 etc.

I think this is a 50/50 game, I don't know if a Dublin win would be a good or a bad result for us given we've to go to Parnell on Sunday week!

This is one of those games where yeah, Dublin I think, going by the way the played in some of their league games have grounds for being more than optimistic here against Kilkenny, problem being its not the old championship where if you beat Kilkenny they were gone and that was it, the "back door" or call it what you like hasn't been good in that regard. Having said that, my own Offaly in 1998, Clare and 2013 are just 2 that spring to mind, but I think over all, one time when a so called powerhouse was knocked out it opened up the whole thing for the chasing pack, the current system doesn't do that longterm. People will say "oh the best teams deserve to win out in the end" but Ime looking at it from the underdogs view...

Yeah I get what your saying but you can look at it the other way too. Most years if Dublin were drawn away to Kilkenny in the first round that was it for the season. Lose, the most likely scenario, and Dublin would have been gone again for another 12 months. Now if we lose on Saturday we still have a decent chance of getting out of the group.

This new system is different from the back door and much fairer overall. Would Limerick have won the All-Ireland last year under the old system, especially if they were drawn away to Clare?

Going off topic here but just for the Dublin lads, what would be the best parking spots for parnell park sunday week?, I'll be driving in by east link toll and east wall road, game is sold out I see.

This seems to happen very year in Dublin? I assume it doesn't happen when the footballers are playing? I get that there's a lot of games to be played in Dublin but it's disgraceful that keeps happening

Its a disgrace alright. But that always been the way here in Dublin. Football is king

Yeah disgraceful lads. Dublin should be putting all hurling off and really pushing for a big crowd to travel to what could be an historic win. Maybe the lesser hype will suit your lads but still.

So Dublin v Wexford sold out? Good to see. Pity you don't have a 30/40k stadium for the lesser games not fit for Croker.

What crowd do you reckon they'll pull overall tomorrow? 12-15k?

There were adult hurling matches scheduled in Dublin on the day of the All-Ireland football final in 2013 and 2015! Throw in at 3 bells!

Most games just got moved by the clubs to the morning or evening before but still!

Dublin have to make hay now because KK will come back into this. Rushe is wreaking havoc. Dublin should be able to get more than one goal here if he gets enough ball

Looking good for Dublin at half-time. They have benefitted from a few dodgy calls and Kilkenny have good reason to be unhappy with the ref. The interception by the Dublin mentor was bizarre - surely there must be some consequences for that carry-on.

Awful second half from the Dubs, especially from the half forward line. Old habits die hard as well, TJ had about 15 point chances from frees, but good enough.

KK defence were excellent in the second half though.

Really disappointing performance overall and one that doesn't bode well for the summer, could be a short one again.

Dublin should have been up more at half time. KK were poor in the first half. Their second half performance was typical of what you expect from KK and especially at home. Dubs simply werent ready or able for that intensity.

They are starting to think they're invincible like their footballers and can get away with what they want, some joke what that mentor did and he should be banned for life .

It's funny that you mentioned the ref it looks like the GAA top brass are having words in their ears just like in the football.

No progress for Dublin since last year.Played some good hurling but totally lacked conviction when the game was there to be won.Kilkenny the only team in it in the second half.

Decent enough match, nothing to rave about. The Dublin backroom member catching the ball was funny enough; don't know why some people are complaining about it! But I can say it's something that you don't want see happen all the time.
