Dublin V Kilkenny

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

For me the championship really kicks off at Sat 7pm in Nolan Park. Absolutely buzzing for this one!!

For the first time in a few years I'm confident/optimistic of our chances.

Interested to see what people make of this one? Who do yous fancy?

I'm going Dublin by 2 pts.

COYBIB!

Always a good contest between these two. Home advantage counts for allot in the Championship. I expect a tight Kilkenny victory.

Dublin beat Kilkenny in Nowlan park no chance.

This isn't the Kilkenny team of old, there missing a few key players and were a young and improving team.

Have a bit of faith...

The boys should have no fear of going down there confident of getting a result

It's Kilkenny in Kilkenny, some people tipping Dublin not a hope. We don't have enough quality forwards.

Well i disagree. Yes it will be tough, yes i could very well be wrong, but I give our boys a great chance.

Proper 50/50 game, nothing between these 2 and my own county.

Draw wouldn't surprise me here

Yeah Kilkenny rarely, if ever lose in Nowlan Park. Wexford couldn't hang on last year with a massive half time lead.

I think Kilkenny will edge it like last year. Dublin will show up and play well.

Such a hard one to call. Think it will be low scoring. Slight fancy for the dubs by less than 4

I think Dublin will win a cracker and start the leinster hurling off with a bang.

Can't wait for this one! Really starting the summer off with a bang.

We're going to Kilkenny with a decent chance of coming away with a win but I'd still have Kilkenny as slight favourites.

Kilkenny by a whisker, no matter how bad KK are they will never ever believe a Dublin team can beat them. Always a first time, hoping for it, but won't be betting on it.

I think the Cody factor alone is too great. I think Dublin will perform and throw the kitchen sink at Kilkenny. Cody has the Midas touch and the young Kilkenny players are better than we think. This will be their second season and they will have learned a lot from last year.

Beat them in Portlaoise in 2013 after a replay.

First team to beat them in a replay since the 80s....

BELIEVE ;)

Agree they have the Cody factor, playing at home and have some serious younger talent. The injuries though are all to key players in key positions.
Going to the match myself and will be interesting to see the level of dubs support.

Really looking forward to this one. Kilkenny have serious injuries in important positions. Outfield player to go into goals? If Dublin can boost their forward line I think they have a great chance. If rushe and shutte play and Keany to come in at end could be enough. Still write Kilkenny and coady off at your peril.

Looking forward to Saturday without a doubt. At best it is a 50/50 game, I couldn't even begin to tell you the line out for Kilkenny. So many question marks with the injuries and an unsettled team right now. After T.J. and Walter the rest of the forward positions are up for grabs, P. Walsh, Fogarty and P. Murphy are proven but who else in the backs and midfield? Dublin were unlucky last year but they have a new management team so they have to prove themselves at county level. I always lean towards Kilkenny in games like his but with E. Murphy out i think Dublin could edge us. I know one thing whatever happens Kilkenny will give it there all until the final whistle. What more can a supporter ask.

Is Paul Murphy not out as well?
Couldn't give a prediction, if i was from KK i'd be praying the Ballyhale boys have no hangover from the club run.

Definitely worth going to, you won't be disappointed. Two top class managers.

Ballyhale will only be giving us T.J. as a sure starter. Colin Fennelly struggled to get his place last year and the rest are very young to count on in a championship match.
