Replying To suckvalleypaddy:  "Delighted for Ros and a good game, Mayo did well in second half except for the places balls. McStay will be gutted as he needed Mayo to rout Roscommon to validate his argument to scrap provinces. RTE might need new analysts.
Will be a great Connacht Final. Ros would be up for it now."
Eh, I'd say the scorelines in the other 2 provinces will give him plenty of validation!

As a fella said to me one time- if Lee Harvey Oswald was from Mayo, JFK would have done another term...

Same on OTB Thursday night with Liam McHale, Billy Joe & Nathan Murphy (all Mayo). Sounded like they might as well hand over Sam to Mayo now to avoid wasting time with all the talent + Horan at their disposal.

Replying To MesAmis:  "Wow Roscommon. A great win, going into the belly of the beast and getting a one point win. Great scenes at the end.

Hard luck to Mayo, they kicked some awful wides and gave away one very silly goal. You'll get away with one of those two things happening against a Div 1 but maybe not the two!

Mayo will still be in the Super 8s for me. Their support will boost the economies of some provincial towns along the way too!"
They're not good enough for the 8s.. Tired team, back training since last Oct..

Replying To Belclare:  "Same old Mayo ,wides galore, depending on the old lads, young players not up to it.. Well done Roscommon, a fantastic football display, two best teams through to another final. Roscommon favourites after this..
Imagine the money been wasted in Mayo on this team..."
They could sort their pitch out. The Hyde and Pearse Stadium are carpets in comparison. On the match could have gone either way. Injuries won't help us in the final but 2017 should focus the mind somewhat. Liam McHale on Newstalk on Thursday saying Ros should have won 3 Connachts in a row. Yes only an opinion but so misguided. Final 50/50.

Outfought and outthought. Some game of football. Congratulations Roscommon.

no respect shown to their own team either giving dressing room wall material to the opposition.
This Roscommon team has good forwards which makes them dangerous

A game in the melting pot and they bottle it again.

We kept hearing about the great support Mayo have.
They can't win it for you though, which is a shame.
Was expecting a Mayo win but congrats to Roscommon , deserved that.
Tough for Mayo to make Super 8s this year again after failing to make it last year.

I'd say GAA head honchos sweating with this result. There might be no super 8 for Mayo!

Cart before the horse. Since Mayo won the league all I have been hearing from my mayo friends is we will beat Galway in the Connaught final.

It will be a long back door for Mayo

Said it long ago when I saw mayo play Tyrone in Omagh. Peaked far too early , training intensity much too high in the wrong time of year . School boy error, they won't make super 8's....burnt out .

Good win for the Roscommon today but an even better display will be needed to get over a more defensively competent Galway.
Strange, if its not a Galway team beating Mayo in Castlebar, it's a Galway managed team. However, I fully expect to see Mayo in the Super 8s and doing well there.

Well Paddy Power had them in pole position to win the AI. Mayo were ahead of Dublin. It appears that they can't win in tight games.

Ah all the I told you so lads are here. Didn't see them making these predictions in the build up. Mayo absolutely kicked it away. Very poor decisions up front again. COC is a class act even if some clowns try and say otherwise. When he is not there they struggle badly especially with frees.

I wouldn't write them off until I see O Connor, Mcdonagh and Carr back. Regan has been given enough chances at this stage. Long road back but can still make the 8's.
