Seeing Mayo celebrate the other day was a lot better than watching Stevie cluxton just walk up the steps grabbing the cup and walk down the tunnel. Give me Mayos or anyone else's delight and excitement than that any day. gallarus14 (Kerry) - Posts: 127 - 08/04/2019 22:12:55 2178120 Link 6 |
Who is anyone to say what way a team can or cant celebrate a victory ? waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13650 - 08/04/2019 23:00:13 2178125 Link 3 |
Celebrate as much as you want, kind of annoying how the league is put down when it should be a good title to win PyatPree (Cork) - Posts: 376 - 08/04/2019 23:38:24 2178132 Link 0 |
Think your over-thinking this..

Each to their own. Well done Mayo the best team by a mile in the final. You should celebrate it was a great achievement given how competitive the league is. We are such a bunch of begrudgers in this country sometimes.

MFS, are you going to tell us who the pundit's are or is it a big secret? Fewpucks24 (Galway) - Posts: 124 - 09/04/2019 09:06:08 2178147 Link 0 |
There wasn't any, its a complete made up story as I've not seen any pundit mention this. Mayo people like to pretend their Dublin or Man Utd and their not. JDF (Galway) - Posts: 322 - 09/04/2019 09:40:35 2178154 Link 0 |
Well said JDF. Spot on.

He really means he hates seeing Dublin win.

Yeah, I've seen this line of thought floating around on the likes of Off the Ball and the various social (anti-social?) media forums. Essentially it contrasts the fairly muted attitude of the likes of Kerry, Dublin or Kilkenny to a league win with that of Mayo, implying that we're too easily pleased out west. Oh I know Clon. Sure how bad. Leave her off!

I think if Mayo were to go over to New York and lose, now that would be celebrated. dublin5 (Dublin) - Posts: 30 - 09/04/2019 12:53:59 2178203 Link 1 |
Yes the competition should be given more importance as it has been taken more seriously in recent years but it still is a forgotten competition once the championship starts. Dublin have won in a few times in a row in recent times but before that it's hard to even remember which teams have won it without looking it up and that's a pity. The bottom line is its still only the league but Mayo have every right to celebrate as it's been a long time coming. KY4SAM2015 (Kerry) - Posts: 898 - 09/04/2019 13:39:31 2178210 Link 2 |
Jackeen has you any problem with Mayo over celebrating? I remember you thought that we over did it against yet selves 2 years ago. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 09/04/2019 14:41:25 2178226 Link 0 |

I don't remember him grabbing the cup and walking down the tunnel with it? Which of the 5 times he's lifted Sam as captain did that happen?

Experts here I think? If you're not cart wheeling down the steps of the Hogan with Sam in tandem then it's not showing enough passion apparently.
