Galway V Roscommon

(Oldest Posts First)

Huge game on Saturday for Roscommon against our neighbours. Will be a real tough dogfight up in Salthill. If Ros can match Galway for intensity and keep Walsh, O Laoi and Cummins under control then we have a great chance. Going to be very little between them. Galway playing well and Ros looked good for long periods of Dublin game. Also, why is this game in Salthill when Kerry game was in Tuam? Surely Tuam would be ideal for Ros v Galway? Getting in and out of Salthill on St Patrick's weekend will be fun!

I think if ye only match our intensity ye will lose. To be more positive if Galway match Rossie intensity we will win. Now that is a big if as we have found out against you on more than one occasion.

I expect Rossies to be seriously up for this game given the fact that they need the points more than us and also as we are Connacht Champs it is a big deal to beat us for them. I don't mean that in a disrespectful way, we have felt the same way about Mayo for the last number of years when they were top dogs (and even now when they are not......sorry had to get the dig in)!

I still expect this Galway side to win because KW has instilled a level of consistency that is unusual for Galway!

Roscommon should have beaten us in 98, 2 replays, extra time etc and did beat us in 01.......so even with our best teams we always have a fairly serious battle.

Always a tough match and now with Cunningham thrown into it it'll be even more intense. Should be a great doubleheader in Salthill.

Double header with the hurlers in Pearse is the simple answer, that aside, it isn't called an 'away' match fro Roscommon for nothing; some travel may be required.

This game was fixed for Salthill since the fixtures were released so the double header was not the reason. And Tuam is in Co Galway? If your arguing that Tuam is not far enough from Ros, then should Mayo have fixed our opening game against them for Belmullet, as Castlebar is too close to Ros border??

A mhic, there isn't a place in the world that's far enough away from Roscommon.

Given we've played the majority of our league and championship games in Pearse for decades now, I really don't get why ye think the game should have been played in Tuam. Don't worry though, ye'll get ye're chance to be beaten by us there too soon enough.
