Dublin V Tyrone

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Met a deep rooted Armagh man today who was spitting fire after watching Tyrone on Saturday night. He was using the f word a lot to describe his feelings that Mickie Harte has another team capable of doing damage.
He says he thought Armagh had a chance of getting to an ulster final but those lovely boys from Tyrone are back to Lord it this year again

Maybe just think about adding a full stop at the end of each sentence. It will make all the difference."
Jesus Wally, did not know we were on here for an English lesson. So sorry teacher it won't happen again!

You're boys are well able to dish it out and get away with murder from refs, 19 year old seanie Shea hospitalized by a couple of yer lot in last years league game in crokepark, 2 years previous also in crokepark Costello chokes out 20 year old brian o'beaglaoich not to mention what Philly did to donaghys eyes."
"donaghys eyes" you mean eye gouge gate? Filed alongside Donegal phantom bitegate, filed alongside the grassy knoll. Yes the Dublin X Files where even when you are sinned against somehow you still bear responsiblility. So onto Morgan, there has to be consequences for miss timed tackles and they should not be borne exclusively by the victim. There is late and then there is late, on a scale of one to ten an 8? The collision was to the jaw, a fractured jaw was potentionally the least that could have happened. There is no place in any sport for catastrophic miscalculation like Morgans.

You keep saying this but where's the evidence ? I don't remember any dirty stroke with O Se maybe he collided with a Dublin player it happens it was a wet day just like what happened with Conway from Galway against Kerry he ended up in hospital with a broken leg and hasn't played since , nearly sure O Se played the game after. Dean Rock ended up in hospital after a league game in '17 had to get his teeth fixed not going to say who against but he got a shoulder into the mouth, McCauley got his nose busted in a championship game a few years ago against Laois from a box , we get busted just as much as everyone else but we don't keep bringing it up like you do. You keep bringing it up and making out dirty play was involved when there's no evidence of this whatsoever the game was live on tv from Croker and no pictures show any foul play.

Good man you passed!

I was just testing everyone to see who would catch on to my mistake.

Congratulations. You are quite the sharp cookie.

Replying To waynoI:  "I always find it amusing that people watch a game, see an incident and then go on like they have a degree in body positioning and are able to read minds of players when they've seen a flashpoint incident from a good bit away in real time and/or watch it in slow motion about 100 times on tele and come to their own conclusion that player X DEFINITELY went to hurt player Y.

Here's the thing. The only person who knows for certain whether he meant to hurt Paddy Andrews, is Morgan himself and im confident that he didn't mean to hurt him. He has since come out on twitter and said he is sorry to hear about Paddy and has been in contact with him since, so that's it. Nothing else to see here.

Its a contact sport. There are hits, nowhere near as many tough hard hits as there was in the 70s and 80s its lame now in comparison, it was just one of those things, Ive seen and will see in future plenty of Dublin players letting their men know they are around, its part and parcel of the game, Doesn't mean they intend to hurt anyone, id be inclined to just take Niall Morgans hit on the chin excuse the pun.

Reckless ? A little. Late ? A little. but you can be late and reckless, doesn't mean youre purposely trying to break someones jaw."
Excellent post.

Re that incident. To be honest seeing manly shoulder to shoulder tussels is a big part of the attraction that brings us to matches.
I hate to see some developments in the game such as
Cheap shots when a player is going for the ball/bending down to pick it up.
going in for the extra dig after a player was fouled
kicking/stamping a player on the ground.
Needling players off the ball then refs turn around and automatically punish the victim for rightly retaliating.

We know that managers are encouraging this carry on especially tyrone management for years. We also know that rule makers are happy to ignore. If they cared about player welfare they would introduce Tv match official immediately.

Paddy deserves better ,hope he recovers well, The other fellow wont have any luck for it.

I have absolutely no love for Tyrone but Morgan tried to hit your man a shoulder and didn't time it correctly. Some of you are losing the run of yourselves with the comments to be honest.

Looks like he got his timing wrong, there's no evidence to suggest he did it deliberately but if he had been sent off he could have no complaints given the injury Andrews suffered.

Mistimed challenge from Morgan, a little reckless perhaps but nothing more imo.

Unfortunate for Andrews though. Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery.

Best wishes to Paddy as well. Hope to see him back in the blue jersey later in the year. A true blue Dub who has given more than could ever be asked of him.
