Very Dublin friendly in Roscommon alright...they even wave Dublin flags near the border when we return west every time we loose an all Ireland ;)

Replying To The_analyser:  "Hannon's Hotel or the The Pepper Mill restaurant is the closest places to Hyde Park for a bita grub.

As for the game we need see more of what was done well against Tyrone,Monaghan and less of that awful all round performance against Cavan last week as a repeat of that and the margin of victory for Dublin will be far greater than 8 points."
Thanks for that.
Roscommon are a funny team I always feel they have more to give, but find it hard to stay switched on.
Would another manager do better then McStay is?

I said McStay instead of Cunningham in the last post apologies Mr Cunningham. I still think of him as a hurling man!

He is a hurling man played and won loads for Galway, without his ground work i doubt Galway seniors would have won that All Ireland in 2017. A good football manager also as he led St Brigids and Garrycastle to provincial titles this is his first football county gig and i hope its a good one.

If we manage to stay up this spring it will be a much bigger achievement than winning Div 2 last year under McStay when you consider the injuries and player turnover we had to deal with this year. We are up against it now though after that defeat to Cavan and we need to keep things as competitive as possible v Dublin this Sunday or else we'll be going into that key Galway game very low on confidence.

Think this might be a blood and thunder affair, there is a bit more of an edge to Roscommon this year under Daly and no quarter will be given in Dr Hyde park.

As always teams want to be putting down a marker against DA DUBS.

Sad news coming in this evening. Liam Gilmartin, last surviving member of the double senior All-Ireland winning Roscommon team of 1943/44 has died. Great footballer and pure gentleman RIP.

Good win for Galway and a good result for Dublin last night. At least gives them an outside chance to reach another league final which would be their 7th final in the last 7 years. Incredible consistency but an awful lot to do yet and I think Roscommon will give a good account of themselves today.

Has a football team ever reached 7 Div 1 league finals on the bounce? Not bad for a side that "always play at home" lol At least they have a chance now and it starts today!

Having a great laugh here, after a day of fishing on the Shannon (blustery enough) we ended up in Beirnes Pub on Battle Bridge last night just outside Leitrim village, Lovely grub in there, live music. Great location and a highly recommended diversion if any of yiz are interested.
So far having a top weekend out west and hopefully Dublin can dig out a good result today to put them in a much improved position to have another crack at a Div 1 final but it'll be a tough game today and Dublin will need to be at their best. I'm hoping to see a far better conversion rate but don't see Roscommon giving Dublin the space that Mayo did!

See yiz in there
