Replying To Onion Breath:  "But if they didn't charge €20 then in essence some division one games would be more expensive than others!!

Despite that I agree with your point that Carlow supporters are being hit unfairly here by the double header with a hurling game we've no interest in especially when most will stay be sitting in the car before the football listening to our hurlers match v Leix starting at 2 back in Carlow! (Why couldn't that have been played Saturday night under lights in Carlow btw)."
Yeah it just seems common sense to me if you enter the ground at the end of the first match you actually pay for what you're seeing not for some unrelated game before, fair enough if you go in at 1pm then you pay division 1 rate, nobody loses but this is just a money grab.

Replying To iarmhi_an_mhaith:  "Does anyone know if season tickets cover double headers? I've got the football one, but the hurlers are playing before them on Sunday and I wouldn't mind taking it in.
As for the match itself, Laois gave us a hammering in the championship last year so I am not sure what to expect on Sunday."
In my experience, the season ticket will get you in for both games. I've watched double headers involving the Dublin hurlers and footballers, gaining entry via my season ticket and the hurlers have been in a lower division, on occasion, so that doesn't appear to make a difference. AFAIK, for the triple header involving Dublin v Galway, Laois v Louth and Dublin v Donegal in the ladies football, all 3 games were accessible via the season ticket. It'd be fairly miserable to deny entry until the hurling was over on the basis that you have a football season ticket.

Replying To thelongridge:  "Maybe Offaly would be better coming from behind in games, as they can't seem to hold onto a lead. I would like to see Nigel Dunne and Shane Tierney either start, or come in against Carlow. Tierney is a player who can pop up with a score when needed, while Dunne is an experienced player.

Could not understand why they were both left on the bench last Sunday."
Dunne should be given a start alright. Tierney though? He isn't even Daingean's best forward, that would be Jamie Hayes.
I'm genuinely bemused as to how Hayes hasn't been called in before. Quality footballer with a quality left peg.

A bit like Division 2...Division 3 is very even and difficult to predict as all teams are capable of beating eachother! So I'll take a chance on 4 home wins...Westmeath, Longford, Offaly and Louth.

Shane Tierney scored after half time v Longford, he got Offaly's equaliser v Westmeath, before Kieran Martin got the winner for the maroon outfit.
If Jamie Hayes is not on the panel, can't use him.

Hadn't reckoned on Jamie Hayes. Need to get 2 points on Sunday. Down in Newry up next on 2nd March.

Massive win for Louth in Drogheda and now join a few others for the race to get promoted.

Good win by Offaly today, getting a much needed 3 point win over Carlow. Good second half display by Offaly, coming from behind, to pull off a win. The introduction of Niall McNamee, in the second period, was a big factor in Offaly's victory, allied to a good team performance. I knew we are better coming from behind!
Down in Newry on Saturday night are next for Offaly.

Looks like Sligo are doomed
So who else is for the drop.
Much as it pains me Carlow have 3 hard games and I worry we have lost our way.
But it's not over by a long chalk yet.

Replying To Blackbog:  "Great idea
As a starter I will go way out on a limb and forecast final table if only to see how wrong I was in hindsight

1. Down 12
2 Westneath 11
3. Laois 8
4 Carlow 7
5.Longford 7
6. Offaly 6
7 Louth 2
8. Sligo 2

Or there abouts."
Looking at my initial forecast . I really underestimated Louth.

They were the bookies favs along with Carlow to go down. If Wee win two of our last three matches it should be enough to go up.
