Replying To jimbodub:  "Played against an Irish speaking club one time

All shouting at each other in Irish

One of my team mates turned to me and said
"Clever c***s are speaking in code""
And that's the last word on that subject :)

Still waiting on your treatise on the lack of fluency in the Irish language in comparison to other Indo-European languages Royaldunne.

With fans like RoyalDunne I don't imagine Meath will be challenging the Dubs anytime in the future. Bíonn sé ag caint ráimeis.

Is that Googlish? Irish translated by Google.

No. In fact, ráimeis is spelled raiméis, and Google Translate doesn't recognise it. It's honest, clean Irish. (Google Translate tried to translate ráimeis as romance for some daft reason.)

Highlights of the 4 division 1 football games last night. A throwaway comment on the Kildare - Armagh game and a line or 2 about divisions 3 and 4.

No mention of the lower divisions in hurling either.

No change of direction at all it would seem...

After last night's effort, we may have been better served had we been served up a TG 4's version, "as gaeilge"

Mr Joe Brolly, is a brave man, he is an organ donor too, but he is too opinionated. He does not belong on RTE's highlights. RTE are not interested really in GAA- they are Rugby and Soccer boys. It should have been given to TG4. Slán

If RTE was so interested in rugby then why does it show so little live rugby?

This is a recent thing. RTE used to show all the 6 nations matches. They lost out last year I think. They also have a weekly show- Against the head.
TG4 has the best GAA. Is é mo thuarim go bhfuil siad an mhaith.

And theyve lost highlights of other rugby as well
Against the Head is only on for certain parts of the rugby season. It isnt on weekly all through the season.
