FOTY 2018 - Brian Fenton

(Oldest Posts First)

Congratulations to the young man, richly deserved and hard luck to CK and JMcC

Brian Fenton's rise to greatness has been extraordinary

Showed up in 2015 as a young fella with a composure and assuredness way beyond his years.

Never lost a Championship game since

Played a pivotal part in 15,16,17,18

Won 4 in a row across his first 4 years

"Best midfielder in the country"

Now POTY to cap off his meteoric rise to greatness...

Ah stop Jim....he only reached these levels because of money!! Never got up at 5 to milk a cow! Or did a 100km round trip to train. So is not a footballer he is just a gym monkey!

Great player...saw him run the show in a league game in Castlebar a few years ago as a young lad. Midfield is such a commanding position and to be able to integrate in without a hitch is amazing.

He has never lost a championship game...I do hope he looses one soon tho ;)

Congratulations to him, a great player and a great ambassador for the game and seems to get better with each passing year.

Steady on there Jimbo, he is a talented young player who has had a great year in a great team, nothing more nothing less.

Take it easy jimbo, you forgot to mention the highest scoring midfielder in a championship season :D
Congrats to him he's top drawer. And to young Clifford, nice boost to get so young, toss of a coin with him and Howard, but we're not greedy.

On top of it all Fenton set a new record for the most a midfielder has ever scored from play in a championship campaign, 1-13.

I think this was the most obvious choice for player of the year in a long time, a truly great midfielder.

Give over you're looking at the greatest midfielder to ever do it.

Well deserved, an important cog in the Dublin machine.

Congrats to a deserving winner of the award. It makes up for him not winning it 2 years ago. I thought he would walk it then.

But the best player I saw play this year was David Clifford bar none. He was amazing even considering Kerry had a poor year. Not sure this award means a hell of a lot to players, nor the all stars either.

I think that's what Jimbo said? Was very important for Dublin in all 4 wins too, what's wrong with saying that? He certainly was.

Well deserved, I think he is the best player I've ever seen wearing a Dublin geansai and an intelligent humble lad too.
