Grandchildren - with a supply of drinks and sweets/crisps, to make it easier to keep an eye on them and also on the game. Toilets can pose problems, if one of my daughters is not with me although female fans - be they friend or foe - are very willing to help out in a pinch.

i always think its funny when you see the leinster champioship games in croker usually the double header semi finals. the dubs and commuter counties of meath and kildare have their fans walking down to croke park after hopping off the train or bus carrying nothing only there phones , their usually dressed in just the jersey or shorts if the weather is any way decent. you can see the supporters even without jerseys from the likes of laois, wexford or offaly etc a hundred miles away, they always are laden down with bags, jackets etc. its just a fun abservation i have made the last few years. i suppose for meath and kildare fans the journey into croke park is between 30 mins and an hour max from there home, so you dont need much compared to going to a game down the country. im always amazed how quuickly we can get in to croker from Trim on a sunday. i usally get the 12.05 bus and am out at the mater hospital at 12;50

To Antrim matches we'd have brought everything. Full picnic, every piece of clothing for whatever the weather could be. Never sun cream though.

Now I'm down in Dublin I bring only the wallet and phone. A lot of the time those don't make it back home.

I always go with a few friends I used to coach teams with; those bonds run deeper than mere sex. Much prefer club games; hard to beat heading off to a match on a summer's evening.
