None of the other balls are near the quality of an O'Neills. I have O'Neills balls out in my garage that I had 20+ years ago and they are still in great shape and when I compare them to some of the cheaper balls used for training at the moment which you're doing well to get a year out of them there is no comparison. You pay for quality - buy cheaper, buy more often.

It's very true. There's something about an O'Neills ball. It's tightly stitched, it's the tacky feel when you field it high and a slight suggestion of talc off it's surface on a warm day - or maybe that's just me. It's perfectly round and fits snugly between two splayed hands. In my half-forward playing days there was no better feeling than taking one into the chest on the left wing, spinning and side stepping the half-back, cutting inside before clipping one with the right peg. You knew immediately whether you had connected with the sweet spot on your foot, as it arced away, spinning counter-clockwise as the O'Neills logo rotated and held you in a trance for a few seconds while you waited for it to bisect the posts. Pure heaven. I should imagine that it's the closest thing that a non-golfer like me comes to hitting a perfect drive, with draw, on a dog leg par 5. Sad people are we! PS - the closest object to an O'Neills football is a Mitre Multiplex Size 5. Fact!
