Charging At Juvenile Games

(Oldest Posts First)

Can I ask for a sample of how counties deal with entry into Juvenile GAA matches. Is it free in most counties for adults and kids regardless of stage of competition Do Counties charge for adults and kids free when it gets to semi finals etc Do Counties only charge adults. I am talking mainly under 16/15 down. Thanks in advance.

In Galway, kids (u16) are free for all games, Adult and Juvenile.

For Juvenile (u16 -u12) semi-finals and finals (at neutral venues) the admission is €5 per person.
Some Semi-Finals have a home venue for one club, there is no admission charged for those.
In hurling, there is no charge for admission to u12 finals. In football, u12 is €5 in as well.

Thanks for that. It was a discussion over a pint on Sat night and a buddy of mine from a different county was complaining of paying 5 euro for a final of a juvenile game (i think under 11). Seemed plausible enough to me to be charging but he was convinced it was ridiculous.

I'm fairly sure that in Mayo people were charged into West U-14 and U-16 finals that I played in, though that was nearly twenty years ago now, they may have stopped charging since then.

Not a fan of it myself. Most of the people who are going to the Juvenile games as spectators are the same people who pay the membership of the players, spend the season carting them to training and matches around the County, spend the money kitting the players out etc and all at their own expense. Yes, I am talking about the parents! So come the end of season finals I think it would be a nice gesture that the Counties don't see it as an opportunity to milk more money out of them and leave the admission at the gates for the adult games.

Free to most games at u12/14 and 16 until semi finals/finals.
should be that way and round robin/early games in championship shouldnt have an entrance fee.
