One of the greats, hearing people call him a Tyrone man is funny since he is Kerry through and through. Pity he wasn't a red hand, we could have done with him..... super player with a great attitude to winning.....put it all on the line. Must be an awful lot of Mayo, Cork and Dublin posters still bearing him a grudge!! I'd say a few on here were probably hurling abuse at Star from the terrace over the years, but if anything that only drove him on more, their loathing only masking the fear he struck in every opposition supporter. A v good player hugely influential in matches even in recent years. In 06 when he was moved into full forward he was phenomenal. His biggest strength was actually laying ball off quick hands for a big man. Fair to say he wasn't a shrinking violet either, mind. Wouldn't worry about the red thumbs so much, there are a few sad cases around here who serially vote down even the most anodyne of comments.
