I did see him clobber o'shea After o'shea Stamped on his foot but at least Donaghy wasn't sneaky about it.

Replying To Joxer:  "You should ask Noel O'Leary. Is it true that Kieran got squashed in 2015? Rumour has it that Philly sat down in the dressing room after the game and had to take Kieran out of his back pocket afterwards."
I remember Philly with his fingers in Kieran's eyes alright at one stage.

I never knew GAA shorts had pockets, but sure I suppose ye dubs have to keep all yer money somewhere.

Brilliant player, could watch his Fielding of the ball all day, catching the ball with one hand, gentleman off the field,a warrior on the field.

Nah sure we only have the pockets to put the Kerry forwards in that's all.

One of the greats, hearing people call him a Tyrone man is funny since he is Kerry through and through. Pity he wasn't a red hand, we could have done with him..... super player with a great attitude to winning.....put it all on the line.

Donaghy at his best was impossible to mark. He would walk on any team in any era. Good player and clever who could accurately pass the ball with a few fellas hanging out of him-sometimes on his back.

Replying To Wally:  "Totally over rated footballer.

Put the right marker on him he was always kept quiet.

Seemed like a gangly and ackward player who wasn't very nice to look at.

Anyway I need to go back into an important meeting here."
'Star' had the most perfectly fitting nickname. As do you...

8 red thumbs down for wishing one of my counties most influential, most personable and most inspirational players a happy retirement! Must be an awful lot of Mayo, Cork and Dublin posters still bearing him a grudge!!
I'd say a few on here were probably hurling abuse at Star from the terrace over the years, but if anything that only drove him on more, their loathing only masking the fear he struck in every opposition supporter.

Hopefully we see Keiran back soon, this time on the Kerry sideline still inspiring more terror in the opposition :D

If red thumbs on an anonymous forum is getting to you enough to post a message about it, I would suggest getting out more.

A v good player hugely influential in matches even in recent years. In 06 when he was moved into full forward he was phenomenal. His biggest strength was actually laying ball off quick hands for a big man. Leaves huge void for Kerry as he was always a serious option when they desperately needed something like mayo 14 and against ourselves this year.

Tis not getting to me lad, I'm just musing on the calibre of posters on here that would have something against a Kerry supporter wishing one of our greatest players all the best in his retirement after an illustrious career.
Ah well sure, that's just the way this place is.
Great to see Star back on tv tonight with the underdogs.

Great player who did my county (and a few more) a lot of damage over the years. Fair to say he wasn't a shrinking violet either, mind.

Wouldn't worry about the red thumbs so much, there are a few sad cases around here who serially vote down even the most anodyne of comments. And indeed who vote themselves up via multiple email accounts...

Will Donaghy continue to play club football and basketball?

Best compliment i can pay KD is that I am delighted he has retired!

Best of luck to a serious footballer, a huge dangerman and by all accounts a thoroughly decent fella

All Dubs know you did Philly a good turn once upon a time, its not forgotten.

Well earned big man.
