Replying To yew_tree:  "While they are a rival club of mine I think special mention should go to Garrymore. A small rural club that consistently get to the quarters and while o don't see them winning it, they are capable of taking out a big hitter or two.

Mid west radio claimed yesterday it was a shock that they beat Knockmore but I had them as favorites. Great club."
Good shout, Garrymore completely slipped my mind! I'd probably have them and Breaffy joint 3rd favourites behind Mitchels and Tubber.

Crossmaglen 4-15 Clann Eireann 0-8. Cross find a bit of form to advance to quarter finals with 3 wins from 3 in group stages. Armagh Championship moves to knockout stages.
Favourites for Armagh Championship are neighbours St. Pats Cullyhanna who've never won the senior, Maghery and Armagh Harps champions of last 2 years. Cross are bookies favourites but I think its reputation moreso than football form.

The nab have a good chance I believe from reports

Good win for St Brigids yesterday evening against Boyle to ease worries about getting out of group stages. Brigids coming good at the right time and if results go to form from here on , it will be a Clann vs St Brigids final ( think Rangers vs Celtic) with Roscommon Gaels and Pearses most likely of the rest to upset this. Good format ( thanks to Kevin McStay ) resulting in something at stake in most of the 6 ties in last round of the group stages.

Love the club championship in Tyrone. Straight knock out, its dog eat dog. Very competitive, I think it was 7 different teams won it in 7 years from 2010 to 2016. Omagh St Endas won it last year. I think the last team to do back to back was Carrickmore back in 2004 or 2005.

Anyone from Errigal, Omagh, Dromore, Trillick, Coalisland, Clonoe, Killyclogher, Ardboe could win it. Pomeroy took everyone by surprise last year by getting to the semi finals so don't be surprised if a team does the same this year.

Just my opinion but I think the winners will be Errigal. Hungry after last years defeat final defeat and running away with the league. however they have a difficult games against arch rivils Carrickmore in the first round and the winners of Dromore vs Coalisland.

If not Errigal I think Killyclogher and Trillick will be there or there abouts.

Starts Friday night so there is a feast of football over the next two weekends. Couldn't beat it.

Any games in Omagh this weekend?

Yes. Trillick vs Donaghmore. intermediate game on before but can't remember who's playing in it.

Trillick will be favoured with the Donnellys and Brenans but Donaghmore doing well in the league this year and they had a few good u21 teams over the last few years. Trillion to win 5.

Hurling final on Sunday at 3.30 at Healy Park. Carrickmore vs Dungannon. should be a good game. Carrickmore going for 4 in a row I think.

The Nab are going well, bet Cross in the league a few weeks ago, wasn't at it though. They won 3 out of 3 in group stage. Gave Whitecross a brutal hammering, 30 points and bet Dromintee by 5 I think. Toughest team they could possibly face in quarters would be Armagh Harps.
We'll have to see how the playoffs pan out and then we'll know the quarter final setup. Championship is a bit convoluted this year. 2nd and 3rd placed teams in the 4 groups all play for 4 places in the quarters versus the top teams in each groups who are already through.

Offaly football quarter finals this weekend, Tullamore v Edenderry and Clara v Gracefield.
Rhode and Ferbane in semi finals. Gracefield had a terrible start to the championship, losing heavily in both games, but recovered to beat Durrow and Cappincur, and make quarter finals.
Cappincur are the unluckiest team, they played well in all their games, picking up 3 points. Ferbane needed a late goal to equalise in their game. Cappincur meet Durrow in the relegation final at the weekend.

Hurling semi finalists are Coolderry and Kilcormac Killoughey , who play Belmont and St. Rynagh's respectively. Belmont gained their first ever championship win over Birr, with a goal in added time.
KK and St. Rynagh's will be a tough game in every sense.
Belmont have a couple of dual players, lining out with Ferbane footballers in the semi final later this month.

No major shocks in Donegal this weekend. Gaoth Dobhair were too strong in the second half for Glenties in the big game of the weekend. Elsewhere Eunans kept their hopes alive by beating Dungloe to set up a winner takes all final group game with Glenties this weekend. There's no love lost between the two so it should be a cracker and very hard to call. I'd give a hesitant vote to Glenties as they have home advantage,

Joining Gaoth Dobhair in the quarters are Kilcar, Ardara, St Michaels and a steadily improving MacCumhaills. I fancy Glenties, Glenswilly and Four Masters to join them.

Armagh Quarter finals

Ballymacnab v Killeavey
Crossmaglen v Armagh Harps
Maghery v Madden
St Pats Cullyhanna v Silverbridge

Verdict: Maghery, St. Pats to progress. The other 2 not so sure! Killeavy are very unpredictable and put up a big score at the weekend but would tip the Nab. Cross are definitely a team in transition with a lot of young players coming into the team but I'll give them a hesitant vote that they might have enough to see off the Harps.

Cavan at semi final stage.

Castlerahan v Lacken/Lavey
Gowna v Crosserlough.

A weekend of shocks with the previous three winners all eliminated. Kingscourt as expected lost to Castlerahan but Gaels and Ramor gone too. Castlerahan favourites having lost the last three finals but emerging talent in Crosserlough and Gowna could tip the balance on their favour.

We are only at the last round of group matches (round 5) in the Galway Senior Hurling Club Championship and then it's a weekend of play offs, then a weekend of preliminary 1/4 finals, then a weekend of 1/4 finals, then a weekend of 1/2 finals and then the Final!!! Possibly could be November before its finished

I hear Mayobridge might have a secret weapon coming through from the reserve team. ;)

Wee had the senior quarter-finals in Louth last weekend. Three of the four matches were lob sided with the title holders and favourites Newtown Blues beating St Joseph's 1-18 to 0-09, Naomh Martin beating the O'Connells, 5-16 to 1-09, The Dreadnots beating Dundalk Gaels 5-09 to 0-11 while the closest match over the weekend was St Patricks who had the great Paddy Keenan back from the States beat the Sean O Mahoneys 0-12 to 1-08. The semi-final line up is St Patricks v Naomh Martin and the Newtown Blues v the Dreadnots.
