Replying To Ban:  "Similar to League of Ireland Soccer?"
I suppose, but i would still have Semi Finals and Final for the top four rather then winning it on points

Hurling could be run similarly

You've left Waterford off the senior hurling list and they only reached the all Ireland final last year!

I'd love to see punishments properly administered for players and supporters who misbehave at matches (physical abuse of match officials, mass brawls etc.) I love the GAA but there's no argument that the vast, vast majority of these type of incidents seem to happen in our sports, particularly at club level. We seem to attract a particular breed of big thick ignorant knucklescraper (I'm sure we all know the type) who think nothing of making fools of themselves in public over a football/hurling match.

Lifetime bans if necessary, we don't need that type of thuggery in our association.

I haven't read any of the posts here but the answer to the question is easy. 32 counties where hurling is taken seriously and no child in this country is deprived of the opportunity to play the greatest game the world has ever seen.

ironic that you say that, your own county are among the worst for booing, abusing referees and sarcastically cheering a free being awarded to kk in my experience!

I don't consider booing a ref or sarcastically applauding a rare free as "physical abuse of match officials".

Booing and sarcastic clapping, however objectionable you may find them, are non-violent forms of protest at a referee's decision. We're still allowed the right of peaceful protest in this country, are we not?

I'd love to see the GAS set a standard for intercounty umpires and then said umpires making correct decisions.

Blind "acceptance" of authority is what allowed the Church, the Banks and the Political class to keep this country under their thumb for nearly a century.

you are missing the point being made.
When on the pitch the officials are the ultimate power in deciding the rules being broken or not. You must respect that whether you think they are correct or not.

Often I ask friends why they do not engage in some of the forum discussions. The answer is why would we draw that on ourselves we already know there are so many haters of us out there. Your post demonstrations the attitude towards Waterford. Even if we had won last years All-Ireland you would still omit us from the top flight. Are you aware of how many semi-finals we have contested since the turn of the century. Probable not because your bias clouds your vision

I think more realistically his hurling proposal was an afterthought not properly formulated rather than some consciously anti Waterford agenda.

Ah the perfect GAA, where Junior B is actually the flagship grade that plays on TV and in Croker and where there's no such thing as a red card never mind a black card.....where a player can collect 4 yellow cards before getting an orange (warning) card, 4 Orange warning cards = name in the book.

Also no umpire's as they are a defunct role in the GAA>
