The New King Of Hurling

(Oldest Posts First)

Think Peter Duggan off Clare will be new King of hurling, currently the great Joe of Galway as well as TJ Reid has replaced King Henry as the new High Kings but they are slipping on a small bit in age, Peter seems well poised to assume the mantle of greatness.

Super striker of dead ball for frees sidelines great on both sides good overhead and great to catch a ball he has all the attributes great leader and well able to handle the batterings he gets .

Whats the betting on him being Hurler of Year 2019

For me Joe is the King, the best I have seen ( was at my first AI in 1975 ). Cant say I see that Joe is slipping but fear that odds are stacked against him winning a second AI. That doesnt change anything about his ability as a hurler.

Who was the name of the last hurler ye "bigged" up down Clare way? Oh yeah, Darach Honan. Duggan is good but wait until he has a few years of senior hurling under his belt before you start crowning him king.

Serious Bank injuries cut short Darach Honans career {surgery on a number of times} different hurler all together that Peter but never truly delivered on him promise I imagine your remember his performance in Thurles 2009 in All Ireland under 21 semi final v Galway.
