The second Limerick goal with the 9 steps was very interesting, why did the ref. let it stand? Maybe it is time to scrap the solo rule. maroondiesel (Mayo) - Posts: 1193 - 21/08/2018 11:49:10 2135195 Link 0 |
Players get away with steps all the time. A player has to take a minimum of 15 before they are blown!

Morrissey took 9/10 steps, but he also struck the ball out of mcinerneys hand, which is also a foul 890202 (Wexford) - Posts: 1278 - 21/08/2018 14:03:37 2135270 Link 1 |
agreed.....therefore the solo should be abolished based on this, refs do not count steps

To be honest I thought Owens was brutal yesterday but then I think in general he is a poor ref.......doesn't apply the rules consistently and that is the key word consistently.......he was giving frees 30 seconds later for the exact same things he had just let go......one free he gave against Glynn in first half was comical .........I'm all for letting the game flow but nowhere in the rules does it say that hauling and dragging your man before the ball even arrives is allowed yet the full back lines on both sides particularly Limerick were at it the whole game....... Paid particular attention to refereeing with an open mind this year. That is easy to do when your team is not involved. I thought both semi finals were well refereed. Gave one an A and the other an A+. If you are looking for zero mistakes you are living in cuckoo land and never going to be satisfied. I do not believe that those minor mistakes caused any team to lose. Bad mistakes that cause this I hope are dealt with in reviews. Every coach would love for his players to make zero errors. Some chance of that. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 2642 - 23/08/2018 22:43:04 2136129 Link 1 |
There is no doubt in my mind that it is a job for two. However be under no illusion but that takes a lot of skill and understanding to make it work. StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 1726 - 26/08/2018 13:06:08 2136617 Link 0 |
