Kerry V Kildare

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Thing is, had Kerry made it through, you can be certain they would have at least given Dublin a game of it. They have that big game mentality which you can't buy. Will any of the other remaining teams even give Dublin a serious game? This is shaping up to be an easy All Ireland for Dublin. For the good of the game, let's hope some team emerges in 2019 to really put it up to Dublin.

Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "The rule is striking or attempting to strike, and unfortunately Flynn had to walk, Clifford got mauled off the ball and still got 2:06, what a young lad."
Flynn didn't even attempt to strike. Young holding his head was an act of outright cowardice, and there should be retrospective punishment handed out for stuff like that.

There was a pattern of refereeing decisions that went against Kildare across the three games. Thats the reward for standing up to the GAA over Newbridge.

Can I ask my fellow Kildare fans to please stop bringing sniper rifles to matches! It's the only explanation for the catastrophic injuries that caused so many Kerry men to drop like sacks of potatoes. Or maybe a certain Brazilian player has Kerry DNA.

It's about time we had an easy one!

Name our last...

Perhaps against Armagh in 1977 when Joe Kernan was a young lad!

Although that's highly disrespectful to the excellent sides that remain

Dublin have plenty left that still stands in front of them

Monaghan setup are a credit to their county since losing to Fermanagh

Galway have a big game in them and I've no doubt they'll be doing all they can to beat Dublin

Tyrone have proven they can compete as have Donegal

No doubting Dublin are favourites but it wouldn't be the first time we've been put on our arse as such

Replying To BliainanÁir:  "In fairness Pyat it's a bit rich saying bye bye to the Kerry footballers with the state Cork football is in. Rivalry is grand but you haven't a leg to stand on with that one.. this year :) Ok point taken, 2010, and we'll earned.

Those men were active 1917 on. Cork didn't rise 1916. War of Independence as I said."
Just out of curiosity..Why is Laois called King's County and Offaly Queen's County.?? Meath is the Royal County....wonder where it all came from? Rebel County sounds better.
I think Rebel County came from the fact that the Mayor of Cork City supported a Pretender to English Throne circa 17th century...Not from any uprisings.

So Kerry fans leaving with 10 minutes to go was interesting. I guess that was Fitzmaurices que to leave too. Seriously if Kildare hadn't had Flynn sent off the game was going against them. Clifford or not. That's just a bit of praise for what Kildare did in the first half, if lads are going to be rewarded for throwing themselves to the ground without any reviews for playacting Gaelic football and it's refereeing body needs shaking up.
Back to Kerry. Fitzmaurice was lucky in 2014 and by having some of the best players around he hung in there long enough. After beating cork with some cracking football he then reverted to type against Galway, were worse against Monaghan. If the right manager takes them over they could turn it around very quickly. Kerry have some of the best footballers around and a new game plan can see them contending with the Dubs, can't see anyone else doing it and 5 in a row would truly hurt the kingdom
