Well based on the last few weeks and football played kildare have to start favourites here which will hopefully suit us to get the result.

Not sure. I think Monaghan have had it reasonably handy through the qualifier route. Can they get back up to a higher level again in a week? Kildare give you plenty of chances to score but we attack ferociously too and generally come away with something. Kildare should be the more battle hardened team. I think we might shade it.

Some good points there. Maybe Kildare playing the so called tougher teams and Monaghan playing division 4 teams might help Monaghan. Today Monaghan did enough in the first and basically had the game won by half time. It will be interesting as Kildare are on such a high from their last few wins.
I think Monaghan are a lot more battle hardened then this Kildare team.
But still be a close game !!

I would expect Monaghan to be too strong for Kildare. Kildare are a bit like Roscommon; they are good going forward but give the opposition a lot of scoring opportunities. Although they put up a big score against Fermanagh, they gave away a lot of chances and Fermanagh could easily have notched up a total of 1-24 or 1-25 with a bit more composure in front of goal.

Would have thought you wouldn't come across a more battle hardened team than Mayo and we managed to out battle them.

On recent games between Monaghan and Kildare there has never been much between the sides. I suppose it will come down to who has made the most improvement in last few weeks...hope thats it anyway.

Paddy power has monaghan odds on favourites for the game. I must say I'm a little bit surprised by that myself.

I'm not that surprised to be honest. I think the odds are fair enough....4/6 in a 2 horse race isn't that long odds on either.....though personally I would be confident Kildare have a decent shout, I can see why Monaghan would be favourites.
Either way, it's a must win game for both teams you would have to say with Kerry & Galway to come afterwards.

Kildare used all their subs in the 3rd quarter to give lads a breather. The game was over by that stage. If theyd of left the likes of feely and flynn on for the full game Fermanagh would of lost by 6/7 more points at least.

Huge game for both teams here. A win would be a massive start to the Super 8s, and there would be a realistic chance of getting to an AI semi with a home game to come. For the loser though it would be a real uphill battle. I'd have really fancied our chances a bit earlier in the year, but Kildare have come into great form recently and it's hard to really gauge where we are ourselves after our qualifier run. We have a good record in Croke Park against Kildare though!

2 qualifiers, one win for each team unless I'm missing games ?

That comment was tongue in cheek - the only one I can recall is when we won after extra time a few years back. When was the other one, my memory is blank?

We had changed the whole spine of the team by the time Fermanagh converted a few scores. Equally you could argue we might have conceded a few less points and scored a few more but it would have been madness not to save some legs for the sake of running up a bigger score. We had the game over the line. Monaghan and ourselves is an even game in my opinion. Neither one of us has a great Croke Park record so it's all up for grabs.

Time's finally confirmed. 2 o clock on Sunday, 30 Euro tickets steep enough but should be two quality matches.
As for the game itself it's both teams vest chance in years. A win on Sunday and then one more win win guarantee a semi final.
Can see a open high scoring game, Croke Park will suit both teams styles. Hopefully Monaghan can come out on top and then on to Clones.

Round 4 Qualifier in 2010. Kildare won 1-15 to 1-11.

Agree...this one up for grabs although the momentum is with Kildare IMO based on recent performances !
