Should RTÉ Show A Minute Of The McDonagh Cup Final ?

(Oldest Posts First)

So far the Sunday game have ignored the Mcdonagh cup, the competition for hurling teams ranked 11-16 in the country.

Not one second of highlights has been shown.

But now with the final on Sunday, will they break this tradition and show a minute of highlights with a 30 second pat on the head review ?

Can they spare the time in a 90 minute show ?

Jesus, not another thread kicking RTE.
I'm sure they'll show a couple minutes.

Why don't you ring them and ask?

They should have sold the rights for the McDonagh cup to tg4 or someone

They don't need to sell rights to these smaller competitions. Just throw them up on Youtube for free. It would be a trivial inconvenience for them to provide this service.

To my knowledge RTE have NEVER had an Ulster hurling person on ANY of their GAA programmes so the ignorance towards this competition doesn't surprise me.

Agree, that would be better than nothing but Why shouldn't the JMcD Cup matches be shown on RTE. they can show ALL qualifier matches in the football, covering matches with teams ranked 24-32 in the country e.g. Wexford v Waterford. Rte aren't the only one's to ignore the JMcD Cup, HS has not once included a JMcD cup match on Match Tracker, yet Wexford v Waterford football match can be covered.

That would have been on account of his Dublin hurling ties.

Maybe if they weren't so incompetent at their jobs, there wouldn't be so many threads about them.

Yeah YouTube wouldnt be a bad idea, dont see it happening though, lower competitions need more air time but for whatever reason they dont give it
