Is no one going to comment on the cowardly sickening challenge on our keeper who was in the air defenseless and hit an hour late? You seemed to be all very worried about our games health last year when Connolly tickled the linesman but none of you seem to be worried about the kids after one of the worst late hits I've seen in years. I'm all for hard hitting and a physical game but yesterday was cowardly and that longford fella should get a big suspension. From what I'm hearing Cluxton season could be over. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 11/06/2018 15:50:50 2110025 Link 7 |

I've never been a big cluxton fan but I really admired the way he jumped up yesterday and let the ref deal with the incident rather than rolling around. Wishing him all the best Malonemagic (Laois) - Posts: 766 - 11/06/2018 16:06:27 2110034 Link 4 |
Move on lad. It was a late hit, the offender got sent off and a player got injured. Happens in every game or is he a protected species? hashtag2017 (Galway) - Posts: 173 - 11/06/2018 16:08:54 2110037 Link 3 |
Will you get off the stage good lad. I didn't see anyone commenting on what Jonny Cooper did either. Setting up a thread to discuss this? The lad got a red card and rightly so but I seriously doubt he was trying to injure Cluxton.

Was it as bad as Ger Brennan's tackle on Declan O'Sullivan in 2011?

Does it warrant a thread on the national forum? Surely its only a thread for the Dublin forum only? DonaldDuck (Tipperary) - Posts: 544 - 11/06/2018 16:22:53 2110056 Link 1 |
It was a bad challenge, dangerous, and the offender was dealt with properly, what's the nature of the injury? Whilst your on it someone needs to take that Johnny Cooper fella and put him in a dark room to have a word with himself because that fella is going to be creamed by someone one of these days and he will deserve every square inch of it

It was bad, but at least he got punished with a deserved red card. Jonny Cooper should also have got the line for a box in the face on a Longford forward. Just as cowardly, but got away with it.

He was dealt with and red carded at the time. I'm sure there's a suspension coming his way. Might be an idea to wait and see what the suspension is before you go giving yourself a heart attack over it. It was a bad tackle. As for the "hour late" bit, let's not get carried away. Sweet Jesus we don't need another Connolly thread, I'm sure even he is sick of it by now. It's been over a year!!

Could completely flip this thread around to ask is nobody going to comment on the 'cowardly sickening challenge' on our wing forward by Johnny cooper!!! I highly doubt you'll be as quick to point blame and sentence him to punishment? I'm not saying it wasn't a bad tackle by McGivney but there was no malice, yes he went in too hard, could he have pulled out in time, possibly but calm down. If it was any other player who it happened to on any other team there wouldn't be a word about it so ease off there pal!

Do you think it deserves additional punishment because it was a high profile player he hit? I'm sorry to hear Stephen Cluxton May be hurt but it was no worse than what you'd see in any game really, hecwas unlucky. At least the ref dealt with it. An hour late? That's a special kinda hit from another timezone. Joking aside I hope Cluxton gets well and back playing soon. Quality keeper.

I think Laois GAA should get a lifetime ban for their sheer audacity..... greysoil (Monaghan) - Posts: 965 - 11/06/2018 16:39:59 2110079 Link 0 |
It was a late tackle and dealt with correctly unlike the closed fist /elbow tackle by Cooper which on the head of the Longford player went unpunished, maybe that was because he was on a yellow card!! The blind mice on the TV analysis chose to say it was accidental.

You have commented.....Deegan did his duty of course and then ignored Cooper's thump on the Longford forward. So on balance the referee was harder on the underdog as always.
